What day is this? What year? Where am I?

Scarf: Brandy Melville • Jacket: Aritzia • Sweater: Aritzia • Jeans: American Eagle • Shoes: Sam Edelman With this post, it will signify the end of the project. I have to say that it has been a ride - with so many potential people that could witness my socially awkward babbling and numerous attempts of being funny. This is an amazing experience, with the all the different experimentations with my Instagram as well as my Facebook, I have to say it definitely has gotten me out of my comfort zone. I know there has been a ton of people probably say that but you know what, what's another person to add to that list.
I hope that my contribution to the fashion world has been amazing! With all my posts, I know that I had a ton of fun planning, and playing around with all of these ideas. It's interesting what you could come up with you're pretty much forced into thinking and building something from scratch that has to ultimately explain who you are as a person and who you want people to see you as. Jacket: Brandy Melville • Tank: Brandy Melville • Pants: Aritzia • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell The end of the year means two things: exams exams exams and . . . . SUMMER! It's been such an exciting and worthwhile year for me. I have to say that It was definitely not what I expected but still so much better than I thought it would be. With all the hard work and new friendships that I have built this year, I would have to say it has been one of the most fulfilling years of my life as of yet.
Dress: Aritzia • Pants: Aritzia • Shoes: Senso I think one of the things that a lot of us fall into is really dressing up in the same outfit for many different reasons. Whether that would be because we lack inspiration, lack the budget or just sheer laziness. I am a shameless outfit repeater – if you didn’t see what I wore the other day, chances are, I probably wore that exact same outfit. The main reason for me is that I that I’m broke. With my lackluster budget, I find that I sometimes struggle with feeling like I can be fashionable but the reality is, you just have to find different ways to incorporate your pieces.
With such a limited budget, I find that the best thing to purchase are simply basics. They are the ones that are going to be easy to style in terms of dressing up or dressing down. I know that everyone and their mom talks about basics but really, how can you go wrong with anything that’s basic? Honestly, if you could invest in your clothes, I find the best things to invest in are your basics because they are the one that are going to be worn numerous times. If you had to spend $25 one for a nice white tee that is going to last you 5 years versus a $10 white tee that only last you one year, what makes more sense? Jacket: Aritiza • Top: Brandy Melville • Flannel: Urban Outfitters • Skirt: H&M • Shoes: Converse Sleep, guys I really need sleep. Someone throw me a time machine so I can freeze time and have a day off without feeling guilty about doing nothing. I would literally love to just cocoon myself in all three blankets in my room and just sleep forever.
It's easy to feel like there's not much else outside of school and work. Even now, sometimes I feel like I don't even have enough time for my friends and boyfriend, let alone, have time for myself. But you know what, if I just keep in mind that there's only a couple of weeks left of school - three exams, two test, two presentation and that's it. I will be done my first year at college, how exciting!! After that, I can just throw myself into work and hopefully make some money. Jacket: Top Shop • Top: Brandy Melville • Bottoms: Aritzia • Shoes: Forever21 It seems that Toronto is really holding onto winter for as long as it can. What terrible timing really, considering that it's exam season it I'm pretty sure no one else needs another reason to hate this time. Obviously I couldn't wait for spring as I decided to wear my slip on instead of resorting to layering on socks and boots / my converse to keep me warm. I do have to say though, that little bit of sunshine that we had was definitely a huge plus!
One of the unfortunate things about this time of year is the anticipation that comes with the ending of the winter season. There is just so many moments of spring that happens and than it quickly ends with the snow storms and terrible wind that encourages the cold. I hate the idea that I can't even put away my winter jacket because it's still snowing. Even the idea of having my winter tires still on sucks! Just another reason to hate exam season. Jacket: Aritzia • Dress: Aritzia • Shoes: Senso Every once in a while, I just take a look out myself and wonder, why am I such a boy? There a days where I can't even fathom dressing up and being a little bit more girly. Sometimes, it's just really hard to figure out what to wear, especially when it's so easy to through on a pair of baggy pants (whether that be my boyfriend jeans, or either my trousers) and whatever long top I have in reach. But sometimes, it is worth it to take the extra couple of minutes and dress up a little nicer.
This is another addition to the Series that I got to take with GG. This photo actually happened by accident. I forgot the trousers I wanted to wear but we decided to just lose the pants and wear the sweater as a dress. The amazing thing is that I didn't expect myself to look this good. I usually feel like a monster but you know what, it's amazing what lighting, good friends and an amazing photographer can do. Jacket: Brandy Melville • Sweater: Le Chateau • Top: Forever21 • Jeans: American Eagle • Shoes: Circus by Sam Edelman Um, what's up mother nature? I thought it was suppose to be April showers bring May flowers not a snow storm. The scary thing is, I feel like mother nature was super stubborn this winter and was like NO, no one deserves snow this year! And than when she saw that we were actually okay with that, she went, NO, this is not okay! You are going to have all the snow that you were suppose to get this winter. And now, we have a been 'blessed' with this absurd amount of snow. Thanks mother nature, thanks.
As the weeks are going by, it's harder and harder to find things to write about. My life has been a consistent cycle of school, work, school, sleep. Day in and day out. There isn't even time to be burnt out at this point. Time to pull up our big girl pants and work through these last few weeks of school and hope for the best (or at least, hope to not fail . . . ). It's funny, you would think that the amount of time that I put into both work and school, I would be drowning in dollar dollar bills and making amazing grades . . . I wonder what's happening with that. Schools getting tough friends. With the impeding assignments, presentations, and all the tests that are up coming, it's getting there. I want to feel like I'm on top of everything but there are days where I just feel like I'm lost and trapped in a series of catching up. I find the best way to get rid of that mentality is binge watching Netfilx (I'm really enjoying re - watching Scrubs right now) as well as literally just taking 10 - 20 minutes of just sitting back and breathing. It's interesting how much a situation can turn around when I take the time and just think about what's happening.
Personally I find that by creating a list (even a mental one is fine) and really try to prioritize what needs to be done first. And from there, just try to further break in down - it's much easier to just finish a task when they are small and really who doesn't love the idea of accomplishing their check list. The smaller the task, the faster you can go through your list! Jacket: Brandy Melville • Hoodie: Forever21 • Shirt: Brandy Melville • Pants: Aritzia • Shoes: Converse This is actually my usual uniform when I go to school - just kidding, I meant daily. I like to be comfortable while being simple (mostly because I am broke like a joke!). I find that with my limited budget, sticking to black is easy to really dress for a daily uniform. Now I don't want to be a cliché and say that I only wear black but I tend to gravitate towards that while adding some neutral (white and grey is considered a neutral right?).
All jokes aside, I'm glad that bombers have made a huge comeback, especially seen during fashion week. Of course, with fashion week they have been made with satin and appliqued with different images such as tigers and florals. Luckily for most of us peasants, we can find these styles pretty much everywhere such as Top Shop, Forever21, and ASOS. However, with me, I still love things simple and easy going - which is why I love my Bomber jacket that I got from Brandy Melville. |
