Dyeing my hair+ every month + a different color + for cancer awareness & prevention = WIN

You know that moment when you realize the only thing stopping you from changing something is you. That moment in time when you literally seem to snap out of some sort of self-imposed reverie where you are sitting on the couch watching Netflix with a handful of Cheetos halfway to your mouth and you think "Oh my God.... who am I?" I had that moment a few days ago. I have decided to change my life, because in reality nothing is stopping me. My children are wonderful and they inspire me they are not an excuse to fail. My husband is supportive and would love and be proud of me no matter what. My house will not fall down around me if I do not do the dishes and laundry every day. I want to make a change, several in fact, some personal and spiritual which I am making on a daily basis at home. But then I decided in my heart that for me that just wasn't enough. I felt there was more I could do, deep down I know there is more I can do. So I decided to create something it's not much  but I am more excited about it than I can even put into words. I am going to do a charity fundraiser! I have decided to dedicate a full year of my life to changing someone elses. So I came up with the idea of Color Me Cancer Free.  Every Single dollar that is donated online will be sent to the V foundation. It is a Cancer Research faicility that I chose because of their complete transparency with their finances and the fact that literally 89% of the money donated goes to Cancer research programs in 38 states!

Every month in 2016 I will dye my hair one of the corresponding colors listed by the correct month. I will post pictures on the GoFundMe site and through my Facebook page, so that everyone can keep me accountable! (And see they are getting their money's worth! ;))

It has been just 21 years since The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and Jim Valvano. Since 1993, The V Foundation has raised more than $115 million and awarded cancer research grants in 38 states and the District of Columbia. Researchers have developed their laboratories and taken their science from the labs to the clinics with the help of funds raised by The V Foundation. The V Foundation started with the dream of Jim Valvano, the passionate and committed former NC State basketball coach and award-winning broadcaster, as he battled cancer. The V Foundation has an excellent track record for finding and funding elite young scientists.

Every month I will dye my hair one of the Cancer awareness colors, depending on the month and post a picture to the charity page to keep myself accountable.  I woulld like to raise $1,000.00. This is a year long commitment that I am making in an effort to prove to myself and my children that literally anyone anywhere can make a difference if they care enough.

Thank you for reading & for helping me make a difference!
