No, this isn’t a book review! You are following a food blog still and this is a restaurant review. It is true, though, that off lately I am not into putting up a review as much as I did earlier. Don’t get me wrong, I do love all the food I am relishing but I guess I am focusing more on dishes I would recommend more than an entire meal and which is one of the reasons I am more attracted to Instagram to share my food love (if you are not already following me, you can find me here). Although, this time I am tempted to do this review as it is different and definitely unique in terms of the cuisine and the flavors.

One of the first popular boutiques I had heard of when I moved here was Sugar and Spice. Located at the time in Lagoona Mall, I had passed by several times but never tried it solely because it is always packed and the wait time can be anything between 10 – 30 minutes. To imagine, I waited 3 years before indulging into the goodness of the desserts here. Thankfully, they now have a branch in Aspire Park, Al Waab and that is when me and my girls planned this long awaited visit.

As an Indian, when we make plans to have afternoon tea together, our first thoughts for the menu are fritters, samosa, kathi rolls, etc. with piping hot masala chai (tea). Qatar taught me otherwise and entered in my life High/Afternoon tea which is very English and includes fancy sandwiches, desserts and scones with clotted cream and jam. If you follow me regularly, you will see fancy posts about the various High Tea I indulge in with my girls.
