Scott H. Duke was born in Franklin, Virginia. He attended Southampton
Academy in nearby Courtland, VA and finished school in his hometown of
Franklin in 1996. After high school he worked various jobs gaining
skills in landscaping, welding, lumber, automotive repair, cabinetry,
and sales. Having lost his job in the wake of hurricane Floyd in 1999,
he moved to Greenville, North Carolina to attend college. Starting with
Pitt Community College he took courses in English History and Drama. In
2002 he was accepted to East Carolina University where he completed a
B.S. in Communication during the summer of 2006; with a focus in Media
Production. That same summer, he was accepted into the colleges
graduate program and completed his M.A. in Communication during the
spring of 2008. After which, he worked for the Centers for Disease
Control and his alma mater, East Carolina University.
While attending college he worked as a producer for the college's campus television station and later for the Director of Marketing for the College of Human Ecology at East Carolina University. Scott also served on the Media Board and as treasurer to the Communication Graduate Student Association, while at E.C.U. During this time he also worked as a producer, director and editor on the bonus track of an independent feature film, Chicks 101 - a romantic comedy. During time spent on productions he has met greats like Frank Capra, Rosemary Harris and Mickey Rooney.
He currently resides in North Carolina and Virginia. (2012)
