I wanted to share a show I’ve been watching for a while now. If you’re into drama/crime shows I’ve definitely got a recommendation! I feel like I’ve started running out of shows to watch recently so I decided to rewatch season one and two of Good Girls on Netflix in anticipation of the release of season three.
I received a cute little PR package from NBC Good Girls with some goodies to get ready for the premiere. It included some themed stickers, flash drive, lanyard and some other additions.
I love this show because it’s the perfect mix of drama, comedy and crime. It’s about three suburban moms from Michigan who all find themselves in situations where they need some extra cash. They’re sick of being walked all over and decide to take matters into their own hands. Beth and Annie, sisters and their friend Ruby all come together to rob a local grocery story. Each family has vices from cheating husbands, not being able to afford medical bills and a necessary drug to keep Ruby’s daughter alive, a custody battle and more.
They’re all new to crime but are learning on the job. Their problems grow further as they get involved with a high ranking criminal, Rio (and boy do we love him). Below is a photo of Beth, Annie and Lucy.
After getting the feds involved, all three women work together to figure out a plan to hide all of their secrets while maintaining their every day lives. It doesn’t just stop at the simple robbery however. Things begin to get complicated after Rio expects more from the girls, and the girls begin to expect more from themselves as well. Robbery turns to cars, pills, paper washing, and many other creative ways to crime.
I can’t wait to dive into season three and hope you’ll all be along for the ride with me. If any of you are avid Good Girls fans I’d love to talk about the show!
We just had the first real snowfall of the year last night. I love how white everything looks for the first day until it turns to slush. I always struggle with finding winter shoes. I find it so hard to get a pair that’s not only cute but keeps your feet warm in the winter time.
I received a pair of Lugz the other day in the mail and I’ve gotta say I was pretty impressed. The fur is extremely soft and I can honestly say I really do like these boots and will wear them. In fact I did today. I paired them with these leather zip up military style pants, a white turtleneck and fuzzy crème sweater with gold details. Here’s a picture of how I styled them
I got a size 7.5 which is my normal size and they fit pretty good. They’re a tad bit big but I plan on wearing thicker socks than I did when I tried them on which would fill them out. I know this type also comes in pink which was so tempting! I decided on the classic black because I figured i’d be able to wear them more often; dress them up or wear them more casual like to and from classes when I head back to school.
If you’re looking to snag your own pair of Lugz this Winter season head over to DSW. Click here to shop!
XO, Emma
*I was sent these shoes from Lugz and this post is #sponsored but all opinions are my own. I really do anticipate wearing these shoes for the winter season and recommend them.
Now that we’re all 5 pounds heavier and ready for a nap, let’s get to shopping. I’ve compiled a list of some of the top places to shop along with their discounts offered & the codes you’ll need to shop if necessary.
I went out and did a little Black Friday Shopping today and although I came home with a full wallet and zero bags, I’m ready to fill my cart online.
If you have any deals I don’t have on this list feel free to send them my way on Instagram. Click any of the store names to shop! Also check out my Holiday Wishlist for some shopping inspiration if you need it.
One more month ladies & gentleman! If you’re anything like me when it comes down to the holidays, and your parents, family members and friends ask what’s on your list this year… because let’s be honest, we’re the pickiest ones in the group even though we won’t admit it.
I wanted share what I’m asking for Christmas this year. This is my entire list plus some so If you’re one of my family members snooping for my list… ask my mom! She’s got it. 😉
I asked on Instagram what you guys wanted to see in this blog post and the majority vote was for clothing pieces. I decided to make it a “Wearables” section to include everything you could ever want to wear this holiday season. I’ll go through a wearables, home and beauty section below.
Now, since I’ll be living in an apartment next year my mom kindly reminded me I should be asking for more adult gifts (sad, but kinda fun) So to spice up my at home list I have a mix between candles, juicers, Disney+ & more!
This was another highly requested topic; my makeup and skin products. I don’t have too many on my list. Just a few staples that I don’t think anyone should live without.
Hope you’ve all been well! Can’t believe it’s November already. 2019 who? Yeah seems like it.
Today I wanted to hop on here and talk about skin. My skin has never been bad. I definitely can’t admit I’ve had horrendous acne but I still get annoying bumps and red spots here and there especially in my three problem areas. I’ve also never LOVED my skin. I’ve LOVED Facetune! But not my skin. I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this. It’s scary to put up a picture where we don’t look perfect. Is that sad? Yes. Is it true? 100%.
Here are some things I’ve been doing every day to make myself more confident in my skin. Why should you believe me? Here’s a picture of my face…. no edit, no Facetune, no removing red spots or smoothing… just my face as it is right now in my bedroom. Enjoy!
To start, let’s just say I literally suck at drinking water. If there was a dehydration contest I’m here to tell you I WOULD DOMINATE. I don’t mean to not drink water. I just forget, don’t own a reusable water bottle while in college (rookie mistake), and don’t particularly enjoy drinking water, until it’s too late. I found ways to work around this by drinking tea. A glass in the morning, at night, while I study, during work, etc. See I don’t like water really, but I can get behind a warm cup of Pukka Cleanse.
Next, finding a brand that I trust, that dermatologists trust, no odor and no coloring. If there’s one thing I hate it’s scented products. Unless I’m buying perfume… WHY do you need to add a scent? I don’t need my legs smelling like overbearing flowers when I use lotion. Now there’s a whole long list of products and lines I could talk about from face lotions to serums, oils, CBD, depuffers, etc but I wanna focus on specifically acne cream. It may seem like a small section of each nights grand face routine but it’s mighty.
Let me introduce….*drum roll please*….Acne Free Adapalene Gel! I have uber sensitive skin yet when I get a new skincare product I’ll throw it on my face faster than I pack up my bag 10 minutes before class gets out. Per usual, I did this when I received Acne Free.
I used a teeny amount as the directions said.
Applied a thin layer to my forehead, sides of my nose and chin.
Here’s a little story. I noticed a pimple coming in by my nose. You know when you can’t see it but you feel the pressure and know a bad boys about to pop up the next day. Well that’s how my night was going. I put the Adapalene Gel to the test. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel, if it would work, etc. All I know is the next morning that little bump, that pressure feeling, that incoming pimple had disappeared and that’s a fact. Since then whenever I feel anytime remotely close to a pimple coming up on my face all I’ll use is this gel. Just to keep us all on the same page, it does say this product typically takes some time to start seeing results sometimes it can take up to 3 months. It’s different for everyone.
Now that you’ve seen pictures of my naked face.. scary.. and understand just how little of this product you need to use for the effects, I’ll leave you with this; I can’t tell you this will work for everyone, but I can tell you if you don’t try you’ll never know. And trust me… I’m glad I know. My face journey isn’t over. I don’t wake up dewy and glowy like somehow every non-makeup wearing California girl is, but I’m a step closer & I thank Acne Free for a face that’s #CleanAF Shop by clicking this link Amazon link.
Let me know if you guys end up trying Acne Free. I’d love to see your results! XO
Emma
**I was gifted Acne Free but everything I’ve written for you guys and all the photographs are real life and true. I’ve honestly had a great experience with this gel and I’m as excited and surprised as you guys that I found something so awesome.
Good evening guys! Back with another look you’ve seen on my Instagram. I’m wearing my absolute favorite jeans which I’m sure you can recognize. They’re by the brand Amuse Society. I’d go a size down than your normal jean size. Paired these pants with a super sweet lace, tie-front top and dark green crop tank. Both my top and jeans are from Bittersweet Boutique, one of my all time favorite online shops.
Much more business cas than the rest of these sets but I’ve really been loving the OOO button down/suit jacket look. This set combines the perfect mix of 9 to 5 with the girl next door.
Obsessed with dresses this summer especially this light weight mid length one from Bittersweet Boutique. It’s by the brand Amuse Society. I paired it with some cat eye glasses, western double buckle belt & black and clear sandals.
A few months ago I discovered the website Octoly. Octoly is a French startup, working as a marketplace for brands, Youtube creators and Instagram creators. It basically connects influencers/aspiring influencers with brands.
The difference between this platform and platforms like AspireIQ, Heartbeat, Famebit, etc, is that it’s not a paid platform. By paid I mean in dollars. This platform works specifically with creators in exchange for only product. Normally this is something I wouldn’t take the time for or be interested in as I’ve gained enough experience and following to be paid for campaigns and postings, however, Octoly allows me to work with larger brands more regularly; brands like Urban Decay, Givenchy, BECCA Cosmetics & Lancome are offered. Most recently I’ve been sponsored by Laniege, Oscar De La Renta, and Almay.
The platform is extremely easy to use. To submit your account for approval to Octoly on Instagram you must have over 5k followers, post 5+ times a week, (however I don’t think I do this and I was accepted, not sure if it includes story and feed posts though) your account must be beauty, fashion or lifestyle focused, and be public. To read about the Youtube requirements click here.
Here’s what the marketplace looks like.
You start with 5 credits, meaning you can choose five products at one time. You find a product you like, click the order button, wait for brand approval meaning they either accept or deny you. The products are then shipped to your door and you have three weeks to test them out and work them into a post. Octoly also offers story posts with the swipe up feature if you have more than 10,000 followers instead of a feed post. This is an Instagram requirement to get the swipe up feature, not Octoly.
It’s easier to work products into a post than I thought too. Here are two examples of posts sponsored by Octoly brands. On the left side, I worked with Almay’s new line of lip products and the middle & right photo is the same post, sponsored by Laniege. I did do a blog post featuring Laniege but that wasn’t sponsored or required, only for fun. Once you submit your review to Octoly and it gets approved you’re given your credits back and get to do it all over again. Their support team always gets back to me quickly with requests and new brands and products are added multiple times week.

If you’re interested in growing your Instagram or working on product/brand focused marketing and content creation but don’t have an extremely large following I’d definitely recommend Octoly to get started.
If you’re a brand interested in having your products shared on Octoly, fill out the contact form here with your name email and important information about your brand and the products you sell. For a complete list of all Octoly brands check out this page.
