Richard Lee's battle to recovery

As many of you may have heard, on Monday, Nov. 19th, Richard Lee from the Gooniez OC Gromsquad was involved in a horrific road rage incident where a man driving a truck purposely hit him, causing Richard to be thrown into a wall and then ricocheting into a nearby pole. Thankfully Richard has been stabilized but he is still in critical condition. The crash broke his neck and caused a very serious spinal cord injury that could leave him paralyzed. The full extent of his injuries and permanent damage is still unknown. Richard is still awaiting his 2nd surgery and will likely have more to follow. At the moment Richard is intubated (breathing tube) and is heavily sedated. When Richard is awake he is only able to communicate by blinking his eyes for yes or no questions. Richard has made some positive improvements but remains in very critical condition. Thankfully, the driver that did this to Richard has been arrested and we pray that justice will be served.
For those of you that don’t know Richard, he is the twin brother of Doug. The twin brothers run the @gooniez_ocgromsquad Instagram page and have become iconic figures and are very well liked in the mini bike world. Richard is extremely warm hearted and his kindness radiates far and would give his shirt off his back for anyone in need. Out of the 15+ years I’ve been riding motorcycles, Richard and Doug are probably two of the nicest and real people I've ever come across.
As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult time for the family, especially over Thanksgiving and the holiday season. Doug has been by his twin brothers side almost 24/7 since the accident occurred. As medical bills continue to add up, they will definitely need any help they can get. The healing process is still in the very early stages but he will have a very long road to recovery. The Dr’s expect a minimum of a 1 month stay in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. After he is released from the hospital, Richard will need a minimum of 3-6+ months of 24/7 rehabilitation care. We are setting up this GoFundMe to help give back to Richard and Doug who have helped and given so much to us and the motorcycle community. All proceeds will be given to his brother Lincoln Lee who will be handling all financial matters related to Richard. Any amount or share is greatly appreciated.
