Mia's Burn Recovery

Donation protected
A month and a half ago Mia saw a dermatologist for her acne and they prescribed Bactrim to treat it. Mia took this for a couple of weeks and didn't noticed anything unusual or out of the normal.

During Mia's thanksgiving break she started to notice a few strange dots beside her belly button, but just figured it was eczema and would go away. A day later Mia felt as if her face was sun burned and noticed that her cheeks were flushed. She thought it was most likely from walking the dog earlier in the day but it continued to get worse through the night. She started having a rash spread all over her body that was like small purplish red dots.  The next day her mom took her to the doctor on the 27th and  they believed she was having a allergic reaction and prescribed steroids. Over the next few day Mia's symptoms only got worse.  She could no longer sleep at night with out ice packs on her face. She felt like clothes she was wearing was burning her skin. She returned to the doctor the next day on the 28th and they thought maybe it was a virus and she would have to wait it out.

Staying at home and trying whatever remedy they could Mia's symptoms only got worse and her skin around her eyes began to peel and crack. She now has blisters on the bottom of her feet, and this morning Saturday Dec 1st Mia said she needed to go to the emergency room.

As soon as she got to the ER the doctors were able to confirm that this rash was actually 3rd degree burns and is an extremely rare side effect caused by Bactrim. Though it is not confirmed yet, they believe it is most likely Stevens-Johnson Syndrome a rare life threatening drug reaction.

Below is one photo of Mia on Thanksgiving before the burns started, and they other three are from Wednesday the 27th. Mia's condition has got WORSE since the Wednesday photos.
Mia and her mom need all the support they can receive right now. Financially, any donations you can contribute would be greatly appreciated for Mia and her Mom.
