Panels and Presentations

There was so many amazing panels and presentations at the D23 Expo that we wish we could cover them all! Unfortunately due to overlap, reservation/standby limits we were only able to attend a handful. Luckily we found some videos to share of other presentations we were unable to record or attend.

From Walt’s Boyhood Town

If you’ve been following us for some time you may already know that we like a great cup of coffee and at the D23 Expo we had the opportunity to try a fantastic blend by the Grand Marceline Cocoa & Coffee Company! The company is located in the small town of Marceline, MO (where Walt Disney spent several years of his childhood). Thanks to the generosity of the folks Grand Marceline, Heyzen had a chance to bring home the Royal Blend (Medium Roast/Whole Beans).

Grand Marceline coffee is made using an old Victorian era fire roaster that allows the flames to enter the drum and make contact with the beans caramelizing the outer portion giving them a very subtle but pleasing smokey taste. The coffee is full bodied, very well balanced and has very little to almost no acidity (we used a coffee press to make our coffee). Very tasty!

We didn’t get a chance to try them but the company offers their coffee in several flavored blends including Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Birthday Cake, Hot Blueberry Pie, among classic flavors like Vanilla and Hazelnut. At the D23 Expo they also had samples of their Gourmet Blend Cocoa. Guests at the Expo booth seemed pleased with the taste while others enjoyed mixing the cocoa and the coffee to make a chocolaty blend, unfortunately, they ran out of the cocoa while we were there and we were unable to sample it.

Overall, the standard Royal Blend is great! It’s got a great taste that suites that caffeine bug morning, day or evening. If you’re interested in checking them out you can go to https://www.grandmarceline.com.
