What makes a true Auteur from a mediocre director. I think it boils down to an understanding of what tone to set properly with what scenes. A determination to get your production done even when all the odds are stacked against you. A film that somehow is able to come out and be an instant classic but yet at the same time warm up in your heart after the production is out. All the great Auteur have a look a style that sticks out from the pack of mediocrity in the film industry. It’s something I strive to do with my film fruit of the poisonous tree and why no matter what studio offer I’m given. If I’m not the director I can handover my golden ticket. Martin Scorsese and Hitchcock are two of my favorite auteur. I personally take a lot of inspiration from older films such as the Noir era mixed with intense wide-angle shots from the western genre with a hints of complicated drama films with typically trying to have multiple scenes of my films that are done on just one camera angle with complete movement. No I’m not saying my style will catch on but one thing is for sure I have a style a look. That if you look at my last four films I directed. It can be recognized as one of my films automatically just by the style within itself. That is something that I’ve strive to do for years. I definitely couldn’t do that without being able to work with some of Arizona’s most talented crewmembers and definitely not without having incredible actors to bounce improv off of. #filmmaking #filmdirector #arizona #directorsguildofamerica. #Taxi #MartinScorsese
