This is a detail of a recent wall painting in Milan. I was at a height of 3 meters, one foot on a roof and the other on a scaffolding, mosquitos, humid heat, people on my back looking, taking photos/videos and sometimes talking at me, making formal letters with a small flat brush vertically, without support for the arms, no preliminary sketch for spacing/layout. (Swipeβ©) Not properly like chilling in my studio! We see good/bad lettering everyday: some of these are made on big surfaces now. So I think when we judge a lettering, we should include the conditions in wich it was made in our judgment.
