The artist connect program took place on the 12th of March, 2016 at Lekki. This 'connect' program was put up by Foladavid and Kenart, some of the great artists in Nigeria. It turned out that many other Nigerian artists supported and honoured this program by showing up with many of their outstanding artworks. Some of the artists present were Arinze,The maiden edition Artists Connect Nigeria took off to a rousing start attracting some celebrities like Frank Momoh, (President, Frot Group) Solid Star, Dj spinall, Toby Grey, Dj jimmy jatt, Selebobo, Viktor, Tobbinator among others.Ayo Filade, scaezar, Victoria King, Oscar Ukonu, Foladavid, kenart, Raji Bamidele, Alex Peter, Olumide Oresegun,Ken Nwadiogbu, Foladavid, Ayeola Ayodeji, and a host of others. Proudly supported by media campaign partners Pulse TV, 54Artistry, ShortSharp_Shot, Viral Splash, Olodo Nation and many others.
According to Nwadiogbu, the strategy was to engineer social connectivity and build motivation, by bringing together a mix of personalities, artists and artistes, and art enthusiasts; while bringing recognition to these visual artists and artworks.
In his speech, Mr Frank Momoh (The President, Frot Group) revealed that it is the goal of ArtistsConnectNG to provide a platform, eventually, for ambitious and aspiring artists to showcase talent and technique; while subsidising prices of materials, in order to develop and promote quality and ingenuity in the new-generation Artist guild in Nigeria.
