Description
Our Holidays Around the World unit has to be one of our favorites every year to learn about and for me to teach. Students are able to learn about how other countries celebrate the holidays while also reflecting on their own special family traditions.
Use the digital version and go paperless! You can now share with your class using Google Classroom™ and Google Slides™. All slides include text and photo boxes for students to easily use.
What’s included:
-3 different styles (one to staple, one to use with Target Blank Books, and a digital book version)
-9 cover options (black and white, color, and a blank page)
-A list of website and book ideas to use.
-World Traveler Pages: As your class “visits” a location, then they can place their passport stamps on it. Select a World Traveler page based upon the number of locations you’ll visit.
-How Do You Say? Page: Students are able to record new and interesting words in different languages on here.
-Fun Fact Page: Students will record what they found most interesting, along with an interesting fact about their own holidays.
-Delicious Food Page: New holiday foods will be introduced, and students will describe and illustrate them.
-Clothing Page: Your students will describe traditional clothing worn during the holidays, and they’ll compare it to the clothes they wear.
-Traditions Page: The focus is on a specific tradition celebrated and students also share a specific tradition they celebrate in their family.
-KWL Page: The letters stand for the following: K-What I know, W-What I want to know, and L-What I have learned.
-Snapshots Page: I love to take class photos during this time of students reflecting, crafting, and sharing their thoughts. You can print for students and put on this page, they could illustrate the snapshots, and if you complete this digitally they can take photos on their devices to insert.
-I’m Still Wondering?: This page is dedicated to all the questions students may still have after your unit.
-Passport Stamps: Students will cut the circle out and glue onto their World Traveler page. The following locations are included: Africa, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, and U.S.A.
