2024 FILM SUBMISSIONS OPEN
Submissions are open on Film Freeway. We are accepting new Canadian genre features, shorts, web series, music videos and proof of concept shorts. Please take a look at our submission requirements before submitting and reach out to us if you have any questions.

Deadly Exposure is our industry conference that takes place during the day during the festival. Deadly Exposure Passes are limited -- get yours now!
The Deadly Exposure pass gets you into every screening at the 2024 BITS Film Festival along with access to all the Deadly Exposure industry events. This includes all industry panels, strictly limited exclusive round table meetings with distributors/funders and invitations to networking events.
DARA JADE MOATS JOINS BITS PROGRAMMING TEAM
We are thrilled to announce that Dara Jade Moats has joined the BITS programming team! Dara Jade Moats is a filmmaker, writer, and film programmer. In addition to programming for the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival, she is currently the founder and programmer of cELLEuloid a Montreal-based monthly screening series of films made by women.
Dara is also an alum of BITS with The Makeover (BITS 2014). We would like to welcome Dara to the BITS team!
Applications to the 2024 Horror Development Lab are now open on Film Freeway along with film submissions.
The BITS Horror Lab is a development program focused on facilitating business and production opportunities for genre (horror, sci-fi, action, thriller) scripted projects and short films by traditionally underrepresented BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ Canadian filmmakers and content creators.

The Blood in the Snow Film Festival is a unique and imaginative showcase of contemporary Canadian horror, genre and underground cinema that exists to challenge social boundaries, explore artistic taboos and support and exhibit independent Canadian genre media artists. BITS takes place in Toronto, Ontario and brings together audiences, media coverage, community partnerships and the filmmaking industry to exhibit and celebrate Canadian genre film. BITS began in 2012 and was registered as a not-for-profit in 2015.
