The devastation wrought on the Florida panhandle by Hurricane Michael has been described as "historic."
It's record-breaking winds, torrential rain, and life-threatening storm surge combined into a destructive force that leveled hundreds of homes, felled tens of thousands of trees, and decimated entire cities' infrastructure.
In the days and weeks since the storm has passed, shelters have become overcrowded and resources depleted, forcing families to hunt for any opportunity to secure shelter; but, many remain unable to do so.
Trapped by a lack of transportation or handicapped by finances, hundreds of families remain in desperate need of a helping hand.
That is why I am running to raise $3,000+ more to provide safe housing for families affected by this devastating storm.
