Very much looking forward to this one! If you don’t know Philip’s music, you don’t know! And it’s not just about guitar (though virtuosic), his songs are great! My old buddy form my Dick Dale years, Sam Bolle on bass. I haven’t been back to Europe in three years. See youz out there.
Imagine my surprise when I see the commercial for this and it’s me on drums. You see, this isn’t the Supertramp version but a Roger Hodgson version of his classic DREAMER.
Behold! The second leg of of the Breakfast in America 40th anniversary European tour comenceth! It has been observed that the routing map of this leg has a peculiar… shape to it. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions. See you in the stream!
He always said he wanted to “go out, on stage in an explosion of body parts”. Tonight, the sky will crack with the lightning all his when guitar players explode around the world playing something that originated from this man as they have for over 60 years, whether they know it or not. RIP Dick Dale, King of the surf guitar! True OG DIY Punk Ethic. Here’s some memories of my time with him in the “Dick Dale School of Pain”!
