Meet Steven Andrew Boehm, professionally known as Steve Sxaks, an artist, engineer, producer, educator, and entrepreneur. As the cofounder of Philadelphia’s premier recording studio, Marsten House Recording, Steve has left an indelible mark on the music industry.
As a musician, Steve’s talents have taken him on global tours, earning recognition in esteemed publications such as Maximum RocknRoll and Decibel, as well as being featured on MTV. Steve was a founding member of the Philadelphia Punk Rock band, Fruit Punch.
In his role as a producer/engineer, Steve has collaborated with countless local and established artists, lending his expertise to elevate their projects to new heights. Not content with just studio work, Steve also cofounded MHRtheLabel, an independent label showcasing underground talent distributed through Sony Orchard/Whomag.
With a Masters degree in Music Technology, Steve shares his wealth of knowledge as an instructor, teaching audio recording, digital audio production, and music business at both high school and college levels. He’s been a featured speaker on panels at prestigious institutions such as Florida State University, Millennium Music Conference, and Rice University.
