MYTHRAEUM Release New Single/Video for “Beyond the Void”

New Album, ‘Oblivion Aeternam,’ Out 6/6/24

Heading towards the end of next week’s album release, San Diego-based Black Metal aggregation MYTHRAEUM release another sampling from their anticipated debut. “Beyond the Void” is released as a digital single today, accompanied by a new video highlighting their live show. While “Beyond the Void” retains all of the benchmarks black metal fans have come to love about the genre, MYTHRAEUM aim to build upon those influences with some shred- and folk-inspired guitarwork to elevate the track and making it a tad more interesting than the rudimentary traditions.  Check out “Beyond the Veil” video HERE

“’Beyond the Void’ is a very dark and personal song that deals with being shown the very truths of existence,” cite MYTHRAEUM. “By letting go of these collected memories over time that chain us to this earth, we can shed our humanity and traverse Beyond the Void to seek out our cosmic self.  That being said, we felt a live video was perfect for this song because it shows our raw authentic selves and we want to share that with the world.”

‘Beyond the Void” follows first single/video “Skies Torn Asunder” in giving a peek at what these US Wacken Metal Battle winners have in store on their awaited full-length, ‘Oblivion Aeternam.’ Recorded by MYTHRAEUM and Ethan Stouder, the album was mixed and mastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklsym, Malevolent Creation, Exodus) and is ripe for fans of classic black metal like Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, and Dark Funeral as well as taking inspiration from groups like Wintersun and Kalmah.

“This album means so much to us as we have worked diligently on it for two years now! Being able to finally unleash our first full-length upon the world has us very ecstatic and anxious for everyone to hear it,” states MYTHRAEUM. “The album itself shows the progression of an already failing society falling into the hands of an armageddon where the earth is reclaiming its throne and cosmic deities have this sort of reign on any last grasp of humanity. All the while, the protagonist of our story is fighting off any evil that roams the lands only to be met with a crushing sense of existentialism. We feel as though these dark and romantic ideas that tantalize our own existence definitely mirror the musical prowess of this album. We hope that through ‘Oblivion Aeternam’ you may embody these emotions and become one with us... for we are all Mythras!!!”

Oblivion Aeternam’ will be release 6/6/24 on Digital, Digipak CD w/booklet and a special 2LP pressing, limited to 300 copies of pure denim colored vinyl, which adds MYTHRAEUM’s 2023 EP ‘Halls of Mythras’ as a bonus for side 4. Pre-Order HERE

Formed a few years back, MYTHRAEUM spawned from the mind of guitarist Wraith (Alonzo Larios) who assembled some of San Diego’s finest metal musicians who shared the same spark of mysticism and misanthropic musings which befell the black metal scene in Scandinavia several decades earlier. These young musicians had ambitions of crafting a brand of black metal that dared to push the musical boundaries by blending crushing heaviness with harrowing technicality, and ethereal melodies in an alchemical process which weaved esoteric myths of nature, gods, love, hate, death, and rebirth.

Wraith alongside Hagalaz (Ben Wilson) on drums, Spectre (Nicholas Lepisto) on bass, Algiz (Zach Simsay) on guitar, and Plague (Anthony Vivoli) on vocals combined into a new energetic and driving force playing shows including the Wacken Metal Battle victory and the EP release, ‘Halls of Mythras,’ featuring the songs “Where Roots Refuse To Cling” and the live clip “Terrestrial Despair” shot at Wacken Open Air

AVERNUS SIGN TO M-THEORY AUDIO, NEW MUSIC ONLINE NOW

Atmospheric Doom/Death …. Decades in the making – Pre-Order Now

We’re pleased to announce the signing of Chicago’s AVERNUS to M-Theory Audio. The atmospheric doom/death metal band are legends in our minds and armed with a solidified lineup and a crushing new album we intend to cement their legacy. Check out the quartet’s new music video for “Nemesis” HERE  The video is primed to support the release of the “Nemesis” digital single, which is now available for streaming/download on all digital platforms.

“’Nemesis’ is a song that reacts to the gross neglect and indifference towards that neglect of Earth. We have polluted to no end, and we continue making a mess of things wherever we are,” explains drummer Rick Yifrach. “In the end, the Earth has the last laugh, because she will survive humanity's ravaging, while we will continue to bury our dead in the very mess we make, the rotten soil.

“Trying to capture the feel of the idea of the song, we knew that we would need the right videographer with the right set of skills to capture this correctly…enter Alex Zarek.  We had a lot of fun making this video with Alex. Shot beautifully in a bit of a strange circumstance on location, Alex understood the direction of what we were going for and captured the correct shots,” says guitarist Erik Kikke.

“Nemesis” is a long-awaited return for AVERNUS, as their last official recording was released 21 years ago while their sole official album release, ‘Of the Fallen’ goes back even further to 1997. Still when the core foundational members (vocalist/guitarist Rick McCoy, guitarist Erik Kikke, guitarist James Genenz and drummer Rick Yifrach) regrouped to create new music our curiosity and excitement grew and as you’ll hear with “Nemesis” this is the most mature, dismally emotional and best AVERNUS have ever sounded.

And “Nemesis” is just one song, albeit it almost 10 minutes long, from a forthcoming new album, ‘Grievances’ featuring 10 new compositions (an 11th song found on the 2LP vinyl set is a bonus re-recorded early demo song). And with today’s music video/single premiere we’re also launching the pre-order for that limited-edition (300) black ash colored vinyl pressing or CD at our webstore  or Bandcamp

‘Grievances’ will be in stores Aug. 16th
