Spring 2024 at NPCC!

We’re ready for spring with our fresh release of spring and summer classes, workshops and events for adults, teens and kids!

Check out our new offerings of classes and workshops for adults that are offered at the centre and online.

For kids we’re offering a wide variety of classes and camps. Spring after school and Saturday classes are now open for registration. PA Day Camps are offered for the remainder of the school year.

Looking for an all ages family activity? We’re offering a new selection of family workshops for the spring months. Registration is required.

Tuesdays (June 4, 11, 18 from 6pm to 8pm):
Spoken Word Poetry – Write, Present, Participate (18+ All Levels)

Taught by Desiree Mckenzie – an award-winning poet and national poetry slam champion, you’ll learn how to better express yourself with words and harness the power of your poetic voice!

Thursdays (May 30, 1pm to 4pm):
Crossroads & Thresholds – Reflecting with Art (18+ All Levels) Register Here
Taught by Noelle Boughton – author, editor and spiritual alignment coach, you’ll explore what it means to reflect with art and gain new perspectives on the crossroads in life.

Fridays (June 7, 9am to 4pm):
Spring P.A. Day Camp 2 Food Cuties
Make food inspired fun magnets, key chains, wall art and accessories that you can enjoy everyday!

Clay Pottery – Hand Build Method (18+ All Levels) – May 26, 9:30am to 12:30pm – Register Here
In this beginner clay pottery workshop taught by Shiva Moghaddasi, you’ll learn how to form clay and add designs using stamp or carving techniques!

Procreate – Digital Skills for Beginners (18+ All Levels) – June 2, 9 from 9:30am to 12:30pm – Register Here
In this beginner digital art workshop taught by Helen McCusker, you’ll create digital drawings and learn a wide range of techniques in the popular digital painting app Procreate.

Presented by three of Neilson Park Creative Centre’s Resident Groups and funded by the Canada New Horizons for Seniors Grant 2024-2025. 

We welcome seniors and the community to participate in a series of workshops centred around handweaving, quilting, rug hooking and more!

These workshops will be offered to participants at no cost, with each workshop focusing on a fine craft medium.

All workshop will be held at Neilson Park Creative Centre: 56 Neilson Drive, Toronto, ON M9C 1V7

We Are Golden Exhibition

The Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto is celebrating their 50th anniversary!

In one of their biggest exhibitions, they are excited to be featuring their members’ expressions of gold in all its beauty: gilding, metallic markers, gold pigments or substrates. 

Please join them to celebrate their 50th anniversary at the reception on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Be Creative Juried Exhibition

NPCC’s juried exhibition Be Creative is on display until June 27 in the Parkview Gallery.  NPCC invited youth and adults who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ community members to submit their artworks. The theme for this year’s exhibition is “Be Creative”. Be You, Be Proud, Be Creative! 

Please join us for the awards ceremony and reception on Friday, June 14th from 7 pm to 7:30 pm. The reception will be during NPCC’s Celebrates Pride evening on June 14 from 6 pm to 9 pm.

NPCC Celebrates Pride!

Join NPCC for a fun-filled and all-ages evening of events to celebrate Pride on Friday, June 14 from 6 pm to 9:30 pm!

Enjoy colourful tie-dye t-shirt making, face painting, a juried art exhibition and reception featuring the work of 2SLGBTQIA+ artists, and an extravagant wearable art fashion show! This is an event you don’t want to miss! A Toronto Pride affiliated event, it is free of charge, for all ages.
