Hello from OIP!If we haven’t met before, I’m Jordan Cowan — a former Team USA competitive Ice Dancer turned on-ice videographer — and founder of On Ice Perspectives.In just six years, On Ice Perspectives has gained over 2 million followers across the <a href="http://tiktok.com/@oniceperspectives" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">four</a> <a href="http://instagram.com/oniceperspectives" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">social</a> <a href="http://youtube.com/oniceperspectives" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">media</a> <a href="http://youtube.com/oniceperspectives" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">platforms</a>. In this time I’ve been so lucky to travel the world to film skaters of all levels, from novices to Olympic champions, contemporary routines to competitive programs, and I’ve been overwhelmed by the response. OIP receives 100+ million views each year, and it’s so exciting to think of how many people have been introduced to this beautiful sport from their feeds.I treat OIP like video journalism, and like any other media journal, I don’t believe skaters should pay to be featured. I don’t believe finances should act as a limiting factor for who gets to be seen on OIP, and as a result, I will never charge any skater to be posted on this channel.But this leaves me in a quandary. Due to copyright infringement rules, I only receive a few dollars per day from the major platforms I post to. Travel and equipment expenses aside, OIP takes approximately 25 or more hours a week of my time. As a result, I find myself more and more frequently having to take a break from working on this channel to do other jobs so I can keep the lights on.And this is where you come in!If you’ve enjoyed OIP over the past six years, please consider joining Patreon at any level that is comfortable for you.
