About the author
Hi! I'm Maureen, but you can call me Marzi. I'm an introverted doodler, and I like to share my awkward encounters through comics. I created Introvert Doodles as a way for me to better understand my introversion. I've learned to love my quiet little self, and I hope this book will help you realize that you're lovable, too.
My self-acceptance journey has also led me to discuss my mental health issues, and to become a mental health advocate. You can learn more about my experiences in "Kind of Coping: An Illustrated Look At Life With Anxiety."
Coming soon: "The Little Book of Big Feelings!" It's an illustrated exploration of emotions.
If you're about to buy one of my books (go on, click that order button!), I just want to say thank you. Knowing that somebody else is finding pleasure and acceptance in my doodles is the greatest feeling in the world. So thank you, from the bottom of my introverted heart.
Still want more? (My, you're an inquisitive one!) You can find me online at IntrovertDoodles.com, and find me on social media under @introvertdoodles. Thanks for stopping by!
xoxo,
Marzi

Is your child or someone in your life struggling with anxiety? Are you struggling with it and having a hard time explaining it to loved ones? Buy this book! It's a wonderful conversation starter and will allow you to share exactly how anxiety is affecting you or them... And it's laugh-out-loud funny, too.
My 9yo son found this book, all by himself, while exploring the free books available in Kindle Kids. The fact that he even chose it and then continued reading is interesting, and he must have had a better understanding that he has anxiety than we gave him credit for. (As background, we knew he had anxiety, and we've been addressing it in therapy and at home as general stress-management techniques, but we never specifically labelled the issue.)
He came into our bedroom one morning and said, "I found a book I really want you to read. I think I have anxiety. I see myself in the pictures." I was floored! This is not a book aimed at children, but Wilson has tapped into the core of basic human anxiety and made it both accessible and funny for all of us.
We were able to go through the book together and discuss various scenes and the degrees to which our son could relate. They are each very simple images, but they represent complex feelings and wide ranges of anxiety issues, so most people will not experience each of them, but it's a great way to discuss them with your kid or loved one.
They even allow our son to express himself when he can't: A few weeks after he found the book, we were playing a family game near bedtime, and he was so tired that his anxiety hit really hard as he was losing. We tried to help him calm down, but in the end, only bed was the solution. A minute or two after he went upstairs, he sent me a photo - see the image. How wonderful is that??? He was overwhelmed, but the book allowed him to say what he needed. I really did not think he would be able to have that level of honest self-reflection in that moment of anxiety, but the book helped him to convey it without the stress of saying it himself.
In my mind, this book has been nothing short of magical for us. It's taken us further than a year of therapy! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review - I hope it helped you, and I wish you luck on your family's anxiety journey!

That alone makes the book better, as it can help even further as a major helper in making other people understand the pleas of those who suffer from anxiety and social awkwardness. If you are one of those, you know it's hard for extroverts to understand. Even when they insist they do, it's clear by their actions that they don't, even if they mean well. They will insist in inviting you to large gatherings and then leave you alone with people you don't know. They will press you to talk when you feel uncomfortable doing so. They will think there's a problem with you when you don't engage in the same activities they do. Well, this book can be a big help in describing to them what it feels like to be different from them.
Of course, the book also helpfully reminds you that some extroverts do understand and they can be amazing friends. And lest you think this is nothing but a self-help book, rest assured the majority of it still relies on relatable humor for introverts, with the classic cutesy art style from Marzi's previous works.
I recommend this book to everyone. For introverts it makes you feel understood and less lonely and for extroverts it helps you understand introverts better.
Great for those with anxiety or know people with anxiety. It helps both parties understand what anxiety can be like for the person suffering from it or for the individual themselves to understand what is going on.
Homest and raw... some great tips too for all...
