This Flea friend scored a vintage Them movie poster at the mid-July Flea.
We had to cancel last Sunday...it was like a heatwave, burning in our hearts. Well, actually it WAS a heatwave but the weather gods have restored order (for now).

Many of last weekend's vendors will return for a makeup with lots of cool vintage, original art, graphic tees, rescued books, handcrafted jewelry, soaps and apothecary, sunflowers and succulents, upcycled craft, dog collars, handwoven baskets, preloved clothing, henna tattoos and so much more, plus live music, community nonprofits and free reusable totes!

Come down to the Capital City across from 345 South Water Street downtown this Sunday, July 28. The Opening Bell rings at 10 o'clock and we're there until 4 pm. Park for free on the street on Sundays.
This is how you do eco chic: wear art at the Flea from Avani Original Art. Mary uses paints that are non-toxic and safe for the environment to create original works of art on fabrics that she then crafts into scarves, head bands and head wraps for an individual look. Learn more about her process at her booth on Sunday!
This is a rabbit named Sir Milky Quartz whose collection includes vintage smalls, plants and cuttings in glass and brass vessels, irresistible Kokedama balls to green up your space, and handmades like pressed-plant vinyl clutches with handpicked herbs and native wildflowers. (No animals were tested or harmed in this photoshoot!)
These shoppers couldn't resist the taunt of the "Weirdest 50 cents you'll ever spend" at a vending machine from Candy's Curiosities and Vintage, who proudly puts the emphasis on "weird." Famed for her vintage porcelain dollhead planters, Leslie has a keen eye for irresistible kitsch paired with a vast collection of vintage medical oddities. Shoppers are lured by the curiosity factor and stay for the fun of it.
Dog moms love these sleek, three-toned Landmark collars from Trek Dog that are customizable with up to two lines of personalization. Handcrafted from an animal-friendly leather alternative that is waterproof, scent proof, stain proof and vegan, these collars are a must-have for your best friend. (Phone number blurred for customer privacy.)
Colonel's Collectibles brings a finely curated collection in a wide variety of records, comic books, original paintings and art, estate finds and highly sought after mid-century housewares and furniture. You'll have to wait your turn as patrons line up to pore through his vintage vinyl collection.
Followers will be relieved to know Belle Toi All Natural Skincare is back from a three-week hiatus on Sunday with her head-to-toe line of handcrafted skin scrubs, body sprays, lotions, lip glosses and more--all using natural essential oils and ingredients--as well as a men's line of beard oil, shaving cream and locally made razors. Soften up under her tent on Sunday.
An out-of-towner posed to us that technically every house in the Ocean State is a beach house, right? Well...not exactly. But even if you're not living on the waterfront, flea newcomer A Day at the Beach Coastal Vintage has you covered with home decor using vintage maps, found driftwood, seashells and other beachcombings sourced directly from our beautiful local beaches.
Yeah, we know that feeling. Amazing finds from all of these local vendors below at the Flea this Sunday. Remember to buy local first to keep local dollars in our local economy while supporting independent small businesses that contribute to making Providence, truly, the Creative Capital.

We're back in action on Sunday with another flavor-busting lineup to keep you firing on all cylinders on your urban treasure hunt!

Bittersweet Homestead is back with salty-sweet  kettle corn plus hand-pressed and refreshing lemonade made to order at their throw-back lemonade stand on the Greenway.

Presto Strange O Coffee Truck is sure to have an iced cold, craft coffee creation that involves chocolate for you to try out, available with an optional reusable straw for our eco-friendly crowd. #saynotoplasticstraws

Smoke & Squeal BBQ  serves up cones of smoked and barbequed beef and pulled pork sandwiches piled high with slaw and sides.

Friskie Fries does gourmet loaded crispy fries topped with tasty toppings like bacon, cheddar cheese and dollops of sour cream.

Noble Knots will be cooking up scratch breakfast tacos and chicken confit sandwiches on tasty pretzel bread rolls with their signature jams and handmade tater tots.

La Pâte Crêperie is back in a mobile cart and pours out homemade batter on a hot buttered griddle to serve up warm crepes folded or rolled with fresh fruit and smothered in Nutella.

Clover Desserts are made with locally sourced ingredients and features sky-high frosted cupcakes, Flea fave brown butter pecan rice crispy treats, and triple chocolate chip cookies.

Mama B's Tasty Treats’ delights the tastebuds with delicious freshly baked slices of pies and whimsical layer cakes.

And be sure to stop by Ocean State Pepper to pick up a couple of jars of their zingy small batch spice blends!

Check out Hollow Turtle on Sunday, voted by Motif readers as the best bluegrass band in Rhode Island. They'll be plucking on the strings of guitar, bass, violin, banjo and mandolin while harmonizing and crooning on the boardwalk from 11 am - 2 pm. Come hear what all the (good) noise is about.

Check out our featured nonprofits on Sunday--Day One--whose mission is to reduce sexual abuse and violence while supporting and advocating for those affected by it. Learn more at their tent this weekend. And The Met High School is back with more environmentally friendly reusable totes for Flea shoppers to promote their mission to educate and empower youth through relentless commitment to student-centered learning and personal growth. Stop by and check them both out!

Four-legged friendly...We're leashed dog friendly for well behaved pups and always have water and treats at our info tent, but please note there is little shade available on the Greenway. You'll want to check the day's high temp before venturing to the Flea with your furry friend as it gets very hot in the city, especially on the sidewalk and boardwalk! See you Sunday!
