Ashlo Pujo as a community, founded and managed by Pramod Ranjan Upadhyay, is all about Durga Pujo, one of the biggest Hindu festivals celebrated in the Indian subcontinent, especially in West Bengal, that revers and celebrates Goddess Durga. Simply put, Ashlo Pujo is the kaleidoscope of this grand festival, Durga Pujo. It aims at show-casing everything that’s best of Durga Pujo festival be it Idols, Craftsmanship, Puja Pandals, Art, Culture & Heritage.

A little about Durga Pujo:

Durga Pujo, also called Durgotsava is one of the biggest Hindu festivals celebrated annually all across India especially in West Bengal & Kolkata. It is also widely celebrated in Indian states like Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Karnataka & Maharastra with all grandeur and fervor. It is also very prevalent in the countries like Nepal and Bangladesh. In Nepal, this festival is called Dashain. Durga Pujo is celebrated every year during the last 5 days of Navratri and Dusshera/Dasara which falls during the month of October. The heart of Durga Pujo celebrations can be seen every year in West Bengal and particularly in Kolkata during the period of Navratri. For the Bengalis, Durga Pujo is just not a festival, but an integral part of their lives, a name synonymous with sheer joy and excitement.
