Get EXTRA chocolatey this Easter, with these double chocolate hot cross bun balls. Easier to make than the traditional hot cross bun and full of cacao goodness, these taste just like hot cross buns in ball form. Perfect for a healthy treat or afternoon snack!

This recipe is: Vegan Gluten-free Refined sugar-free

1 cup almonds
12 medjool dates
1 cup oats
½ cup raisins
Zest of 1 orange
2 tbsp orange juice
¼ cup CHOC Chick cinnamon powder
Pinch of nutmeg

Melted raw chocolate (recipe here)

Put the almonds, medjool dates, oats, raisons, cacao powder, orange juice, zest and nutmeg into a food processor and process until a dough forms.

Roll approx. 20g of dough into a small ball and place on a lined tray. Repeat this step with the rest of the dough.

Put the hot cross bun balls into the freezer for 15 minutes. Meanwhile make the raw chocolate.

Once you’ve made the raw chocolate, remove the hot cross bun balls from the freezer. Drizzle a little melted chocolate over each of the balls to make a cross - the chocolate should harden almost instantly.

Store the hot cross bun balls in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to eat.
