Cuídate, no te escondes Ya te encontré, en el mar Charco bien amargo para mí, papá Just think it’s wherever you are You take a drink And make it to the telephone You say to me You're thinkin just a little hard But now I know I'm just wherever you are You used to fall asleep Thinkin 'bout the words to say But talk is cheap And now you're feeling restless When you think of me Just know I'm there Wherever you are I know! Sombras en tu cielo osito Alright! I can't even fuckin take it Next time! I'm leaving you Wherever you are Please don't say it Please don't say it y'know Don't say it Please don't say it y'know Don't say it Please don't say it y'know Don't say it Please don't say it y'know Wherever you are

hotel and casino near the strip mall vegas pinot noir ska band with no crowd and just a bar but nothing tender ‘bout this ghost town not a showdown flights of stairs now carry me down, down to the smoke den of the hallways stained wallpaper peeling sideways oh you’d know by now everything is bright here under the sun one more hour, how? one more hour ‘til I get things done street lights near the bathroom shot of soju feeling like i’m already home to the freedom newspapers but nobody reads them what a shameful looking headline embers flash by as the cigarette smoke yellows all the paintings and the same things that make me think of… oh you’d know by now everything is bright here under the sun one more hour, how? one more hour ‘til I get things done one more hour…

Technicolor 04:19
in the middle of the night, i’m pacing up and down a corridor that’s in my mind now dodging all the lights, escaping the reality that’s nothing but my life now ya said its easier to drink, than tell the people that you always cannot ever think of what to say in an animated way until you came around i begin to see the sounds of not a normal hue technicolor view pigment of the vain nothing to refrain there’s a shimmering of light, tv flashing on and off until the dawn now cauterizing sights, affecting the normality of nothing but my life now you said it’s easier to dream than talk about the people talk about ‘em all the time now what to say in an animated way until you came around i begin to see the sounds of not a normal hue technicolor view pigment of the vain nothing to refrain technicolor

Cherry Tree 03:49
the cherry trees are blooming the pasture ain’t the same water droplets like a movie picnic basket filled with rain oh you said you didn’t know the trail leads you far from home if you stay close to me you’ll see happiness that grows on trees and I must know what makes you smile I really wanna know

Candy Bar 04:01
don't be alarmed it's hotter than it's ever been before it's under control we got an eye on it, for sure and if you need the shelter we can rent the space for free do you feel that heat? I hope you paid extra for good AC climate controlled for the rich comfort for me and when you need the shelter you gotta pay the landord’s fee… you gotta be fucking kidding me you see? my candy bar is melting in the heat the air's been getting toxic, choking me and nothing's changing I'm starting to think the end's here, story complete oooooo we been singing these alarum bells for far too long (is it too late?) plastic in the water stuck for generations Oooooo we been singing these alarum bells for far too long (is it too late?) the innocent will pay the price of our perdition you see? my candy bar is melting in the heat the air's been getting toxic, choking me and nothing's changing I'm starting to think the end's here, story complete

Shimmer 05:11
It’s like a joke that never ends The punchline’s always changing And they’re all saying “I don’t get it, what’s so funny?” It’s like a song you wanna sing But you don’t know the words yet And you might forget how the tune goes We’re making it up as we go Can’t describe it at all, It’s like the leaves in the fall Or watching flowers bloom It’s in the words that we say When we’re barely awake It’s being next to you
9.
I know, feels cold but it’s time for us to go on our own playing in the sand swingset was my friend inside by nine, lights off by ten missing that fire place in the den I don’t wanna talk about it now We’re planting seeds The memories we make Will surely outweigh nostalgia Forget the rest You gotta leave the nest ‘Cause you won’t see the world From your room And it’s a gorgeous afternoon For me and you

about

Technicolor is a fitting title for the third full-length album from Atlanta’s Dinner Time. Just as the monochrome Dorothy stepped into the dazzling, technicolor world of Oz, the newest offering from the indie/psych quintet almost seems to make their previous efforts seem one-dimensional in comparison.

The band blithely slips between moods and genres across the 9-song tracklist, bending towards their garage rock roots at times and pushing towards a more psychedelic, almost jazzy direction in the next moment. The group’s love of music and the songwriting process are immediately apparent, and the album includes plenty of weird sounds, sonic details, and motifs to reward careful listeners. Songwriters Ian Buford, Andrew Joyce, and Alejandro Uribe take the audience through a whole spectrum of emotions: downtrodden blues, longing and regret, nostalgia, jubilant love… and even the insidious call of the casino threatening to pull someone in.

I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore…
