CELEBRATE MOTHER'S DAY WITH POETRY AND TEA
Poet Toni Stuart is collaborating with the beautiful city centre tea room, Kapa Tée to create a very special Mother's Day celebration. Toni will share poems that celebrate mothers of all kinds, and mothering in all its many forms, as we drink beautiful teas from Kapa Tée and eat delicious cake. Kapa Tée will also offer tastings of their special blend, White Lavender – a relaxing and calming tea, fitting for this Mother's Day celebration.
Please note that this event is not suitable for children younger than 13. The content of the poems, and the size of the venue makes it difficult for us to accommodate small children. We appreciate your understanding.
Your ticket price includes a cup of tea, and slice of cake.
NB: Tickets are limited, and there will be no sales at the door.
TONI STUART is a South African poet, performer and spoken word educator. Her work has been published in anthologies, journals and non-fiction books locally and abroad. She has performed in 12 countries, collaborating with artists in a range of disciplines, from musicicans to filmmakers and dancers to visual artists. In 2013 she was named in the Mail and Guardian’s list of 200 inspiring Young South Africans. She has an MA Writer/Teacher (Distinction) from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she was a 2014/2015 Chevening Scholar. She was the founding curator of Poetica, at Open Book Festival.
