Information about our in-person graduation ceremonies

Graduation dates and location for 2024

The ceremonies will take place from 16-19 July at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.

2020 and 2021 Graduates

The class of 2020 and 2021 have the opportunity to attend future graduation ceremonies until 2026. Please complete our form to register.

Is there parking?

There is no parking available at the venue.

About the ceremonies

How long do the ceremonies last?

Ceremonies usually last between 1 to 2 hours depending on the number of graduates.

Are the ceremonies streamed online?

Yes, you will be able to watch the ceremonies live on the UAL website. A live steam link will be shared on this page ahead of the ceremonies.

Guests

How many guest tickets can I buy?

Students can book a maximum of 3 guest tickets or a private box that seats 4.

Can I book more guest tickets?

No, at the moment guest tickets are limited to the numbers above. Once registration has closed, we will look at the numbers and potentially open up more on a first come first served basis. If this is the case, students will be informed when available.

Please note that any additional guest tickets purchased will not sit with the rest of your party.

Do children need a guest ticket?

Children over 3 years old will need a guest ticket, children under 3 can sit on another guest’s laps and will not have to purchase a ticket.

Can a relative/friend access Royal Festival Hall without a guest ticket?

Yes, the building is open to the public. However, they won't be able to enter the auditorium.

Robes and photography

What should I wear?

The graduation ceremony is a formal event. We would advise students to wear formal wear however they are free to dress as they like.

Where do I hire my academic robe?

Graduates can hire their academic robe with our preferred supplier Ede and Ravenscroft.

Can I use a different supplier for my academic robe?

Yes, students can hire academic robes from a different supplier.

How can I find out if I am eligible for help with my robe (Hardship Fund/Bursary)?

Students who receive the UAL Hardship Fund are eligible for financial help for their robes, and they will be contacted in due course.

Where can I book photography?

Students can book professional photography from Ede and Ravenscroft.
