This Fashion Campaign Features Only People Of Colour And It Is Seriously Stunning

    These models are showing the industry what diversity really means.

    We all know that fashion and media aren't the most diverse of industries.

    While we've made some progress in seeing some people of colour thrive in fashion, tokenism and under-representation are still rife within the industry.

    To combat this, Shine 4 Diversity, a model-run social movement, has put out a fashion editorial and campaign video featuring only models of colour.

    This awareness campaign, which features 15 models of different ethnicities, aims to show brands exactly how diversity should be done.

    The cast collectively represents 17 different nationalities, including Aboriginal Australian, South Sudanese, Maori, Indonesian, Fijian-Indian and Brazilian.

    And can we just say, the photos are BREATHTAKING.

    The campaign celebrates people of colour by emphasising the beauty of natural hair and makeup.

    "We wanted to keep hair and makeup matching their natural look, so they [the models] felt empowered being themselves", said Mahalia.

    And the outfits show off bodies of all different shapes and sizes.

    Tall girls, shorter girls, thin girls and curvy girls are all represented.

    Shine 4 Diversity's co-founders Mahalia Handley and Shareefa J were inspired to do the campaign after being told that "‘the trend of race is no longer a thing in fashion."

    "We wanted to have so many models of colour on set at one time, because normally there is only one model of colour and the rest are caucasian," said Mahalia.

    If there's one thing this campaign proves, it's how STUNNING models of colour are and how the industry needs to do better.
