Otto's top surgery
Donation protected
Hello,
I'm Otto, I'm 18 years old and I'm FTM (Female to Male) transgender.
I have been wearing a binder for almost 5 years now and within those 5 years I have worn it for 11ish hours a day, almost every day and very recently many health effects have arisen from me over-wearing it.
I have been experiencing pain or spasms in my neck, back, shoulders, ribs and lungs on an hourly basis and have been warned by a doctor not to wear my binder. After a lot of thought I have decided to take a well needed break from the good ol' binder but so far that has just caused more issues.
Despite my body slowly recovering from the damage I've dealt it over the years, my dysphoria is causing me to hunch my shoulders for most of the day. With top surgery I could give my body a lifelong break from severe damage, I could live with no top dysphoria and no need to bind so that my body has time to get better.
I'm looking for donations towards my £7700 goal (£1,200 for consultation and £6,500 for the actual surgery) for private surgery. The reason I am seeking private surgery is because the NHS wait list for the Gender Identity Clinic has risen to a two year wait plus a years worth of mandatory psychotherapy and three years is a lot of binder-damage or hunching-damage caused to my bones and internal organs.
It is important to note that any spare money after surgery will be donated back through GoFundMe for other transgender kids going through similar situations.
I hope you will donate to my cause, anything is appreciated.
