Eowyn Crowder's VSD Heart Surgery
Eowyn (A-O-Win) Milaya Grace Crowder was born on June 17, 2017. When she was born, the doctor heard abnormal heart sounds in her chest. Going on experience, he submitted Eowyn for images to determine if something was wrong. When word came back from the cardiologist department in Richmond, we were told that she needs to be seen by a cardiologist as soon as possible.
After seeing the cardiologist, he told us that she has a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). This is when there is a hole located somewhere in the heart making the blood cells without oxygen cycle back into the lungs mixing with the blood cells that do have oxygen and making the heart work even harder. If it was a small enough hole, it would repair on its' own. Unfortunately, the hole is rather large and she will need to have open heart surgery around mid September (around 3 months old).
The medical bills associated with this type of situation are very large. Our insurance pays for a good portion but we are still stuck with paying for the rest.
These types of surgeries are very costly and any donation that we get will help us to pay for Eowyns surgery. Any donations left over will be donated to a program called Operation Warm Hearts with the Virginia National Guard.
Thank you so much for your help!
Sincerely,
The Crowders
