Julian Strong ❤️

Her name is Geraldine Rodriguez she is 26 years old and she is a seizure mom (Mother of a child with unexplainable ongoing seizures.) She has shared her baby’s story with family and close friends and today I’m sharing her story to see how we can help alleviate some financial stress. Due to Julian’s brain surgery and unexpected longer stay at the hospital, she will be by his side and off work until he is fully recovered. For her, expecting Julian was a roller coaster of emotions. As every expecting mother she started off with happiness and Joy. As doctor appointments started to approach so did the concerns. The doctor was concerned that something was abnormal with her baby and they weren’t sure why. They said “Your baby’s head looks quite big”. She had a million questions and no answers given but one thing for sure was, Giving up her baby was not an option. The roller coaster began. Anxiety, confusion, fear, sadness and in between it all she never lost faith. Julian was born on May 4th of 2016 at 32 weeks. The seizures began the day after he was born, those damn seizures. She was left in the hospital and her baby had to leave her side immediately to begin his battle with seizures at the L.A Children’s Hospital. (A love hate relationship with that place we must say) There, he was diagnosed with Hemimegalencephally (A rare neurological condition in which one half of the brain is abnormally larger than the other and causes severe seizures that are often frequent or hard to control. My cousin and family experienced a heart break like no other when she found out he would need to have open brain surgery to try to correct the seizures. A mother’s worst nightmare. Why him? Why must he go through all this pain? What had I done?. she would ask herself. A million thoughts running through her head but always kept in mind that Julian needed his mommy more than anything. The surgeries began. Surgery 1, (HEMISPHERECTOMY) at 3 months. Surgery 2(HEMISPHERECTOMY) at 2 years. Surgery 3(CRANIOTOMY) at 3 years on August 12, 2019 and still in hospital as unforeseen complications arose. In between all those surgeries there has been countless visits to the E.R and back and forth to the Children’s Hospital. Although Julian’s journey has not been easy, god couldn’t have picked a better angel to be by his side (his mom). Julian is different than most children, due to his disability he is unable to walk, talk and do most things that a normal 3 year old would do. But his laughter and smile are worth more than anything in this world. As a mother, I can’t imagine having to witness your child go through so much pain. By sharing his story I am hoping we can help her take care of any necessary expenses as she is a single mom trying her best to manage this lifelong journey with Julian. Please join us in helping in whatever you can. Any donation or prayers are greatly appreciated! #Julianstrong
