Papatat & Judah the Lion - 2 Broken Hearts

Donation protected
Dan and Dawn Frye have been blessed with 4 healthy children. When they got pregnant with little Judah, they had a feeling that something wasn’t right. When they went to their second ultrasound appt they found out that Judah had a heart condition. After several other doctor and specialist appointments they determined that Judah not only had a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) but that he also would most likely have Down syndrome. His diagnosis of Trisomy 21 and TOF was confirmed after birth in NICU and he will need open heart surgery to fix his heart, which doctors are trying to push off as long as 3-5 months so he can gain weight and grow for an easier surgery.  Since Judah has been born it has been a roller-coaster of emotions for the Frye’s and just 6 weeks later, Dan had a massive heart attack called “The widow maker” at only 38 years old. He suffered moderate damage to the left side of the heart, putting his ejection fraction down to 40% compared to 55% or higher. They also suspect he has diabetes that contributed to this. Now Dan is as tired and fragile as Judah as he starts to heal and go through heart rehabilitation. People keep asking what they can do for this family of 7 that would benefit them. The answer is anything that you can spare will help them as this comes to a surprise for Dan and Dawn.  They didn’t have time to prepare savings for the extra time off they need to care for both the father and son’s extra needs and appointments. Judah’s medical bills are completely covered through state programs because of his diagnosis; but Dan has a large insurance deductible to pay; and both he and Dawn will have a temporary loss of income that will not be covered because they are salon owners without paid time off. Any funds would go to cover living expenses, medical bills, and solve some transportation costs to help getting everyone where they need to go. Anything they don’t have to use left over they would use for a trust for Judah.

From her best friend of 20 years I will forever be indebted and pay it forward.  Prayers and positive thoughts welcome and God bless.
