Gladiator’s boxing gym has been a family-oriented community gym located in the heart of Redwood City since 1990.  Antonio Renteria and Eliza Olson, former IBF and WBC world champion lightweight division, have been Gladiator’s head coaches for the past several years providing cardio fitness classes for all members and contact sparring for athletes preparing for USA boxing sanctioned competitions.  Gladiator’s boxing gym welcomes all types of members by offering various types of classes for kids, teenagers, and adults of all backgrounds; even a woman’s only class.  The best thing about Gladiator’s boxing gym, besides the workouts, is their sense of community and family.  Gladiator’s boxing gym is a fun for all gym and we always welcome new members.

Gladiator’s coaches, Tony and Eliza, and Alexis Gomez, Gladiator’s newest female middleweight fighter, have big plans for the 2019 year. First and foremost, they want to compete at the Western Qualifiers for the 2019 USA boxing national tournament in Reno, Nevada March 23-30th.  Alexis Gomez is currently at 7 wins and no loses with 2TKOs. If they are able to get ranked at the national level, there are hopes to qualify for 2020 Tokyo Olympics and/or be able to train at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, Colorado with TEAM USA.

We have upcoming tournaments and competitions we are actively seeking to compete against.  Western Qualifiers in Reno, Nevada being the first and a week later April 5th and 6th is the California State Golden Gloves Championship in Los Angeles. Humberto Barrito, one of Gladiator’s  middleweight fighter will also be traveling to Los Angeles with the team as our Northern California Golden Gloves champion 152lb Division. Humberto is currently at

Our fighters continue to train hard every day 2x a day each 2-3 hours.  3x a week they run and/or sprint. 3x a week they do strength and conditioning.  All along with sparring, bag work, mitt work, and more cardio.  Training is very intense, but our Gladiator’s love what they does and will make it big.  More importantly, they work so hard for those who could never make it like they will.  Ask anyone around, they are always in the gym working and learning from those around them.  In addition, they also learn by teaching and coaching the younger generations.  The best way to learn is to slow it down and show others.

Gladiator’s boxing gym could not be run without its hardworking coaches, as well as, their members.  The gym needs its members as much as their dedicated coaches.  Gladiator’s boxing gym has been run on the community’s support and needs the community’s help to send their fighters to upcoming competitions.  With all of us working together as one big family, Gladiator’s boxing gym can continue to represent itself as a competitive gym within USA boxing.

Thank you in advance for all your love and support. Godbless!
