An eclectic mix of traditional, functional and fun with a touch of rustic, this cabin breathes life to mountain living and being away from it all, without really being away from it all. High speed WIFI, a rarity in the mountains, is available when you can tear yourself away from the evening sunset as it rests on the peak of the surrounding mountains. Wake up each morning to the sound of the colorful birds and hummingbirds looking for their first meal of the day. Stand on the back deck with your morning coffee and watch the steam blend with the morning mist that settles into the valley. You will never grow weary of the hustle and bustle of the four-legged neighbors, including the occasional sneaky fox, local deer, and bighorn sheep.

The "ghost town" of St. Elmo is within a few miles as well as a historic world-renowned hot springs. This house has plenty of space to spread out for privacy, but also plenty of space for guests to come together to eat and prepare meals, play games, watch the Denver Broncos play, make s'mores over the firepit (who doesn't love s'mores!). This cabin is in the community of Alpine, Colorado, which you probably won't find on too many maps. The community is a mix of hardy full-time residents and travelers from near and far, all seeking the solitude of the mountains. You can often hear the sound of distant laughter as others enjoy quality time, the smell of hot dogs on an outdoor fire, or the peace in lying in a hammock and watching the transition of the day turning into night.

WINTER GUESTS: All-Wheel drive, four-wheel drive, or chains are recommended.

GUESTS WITH TRAILERS: Guests can park up to two trailers in the driveway, with a maximum length of 30'. For longer or additional trailers, there is overnight public parking on County Road 162. Riding an OHV from the property is prohibited out of respect to the neighbors.

Please be advised that VRBO's presentation of the nightly rate is not always accurate. The "Avg Rate" takes into consideration that this property has a high season rate and a low season rate and averages out over a period of 364-365 nights a year. It also takes into consideration that there is a base rate as well as additional guest fees over the base rate.

Our base rate is dependent upon 8 guests or less. Each additional guest is charged $20.00 per person/per night. In the quote from VRBO, they call it an "Additional Guest Fee", whereas the host includes it in the rent. The host has no control over how VRBO presents these or any other fees.

As per our license with Chaffee County, this property is not an appropriate destination for events such as weddings or large parties. Small gatherings which are respectful of the neighbors and neighborhood are acceptable as long as the maximum number does not exceed the number of guests on the reservation.

Beautiful spacious home
This is a four bedroom four bathroom home with plenty of space for relaxing in the two living rooms and the dining area. We have stayed here before and since then, 2 bathrooms have been updated, which was very nice. We would stay here again!

Peaceful retreat
This is a unique house as it has obviously been added on and upgraded over the years, but it served us well! The deck was large and a great place to relax, and the house was well stocked. Our only minor complaints was there were no grilling utensils that we could find, and it seemed to run out of hot water easily. Overall it was a great stay and we would not hesitate to come back!
