Someone asked me today if I have any regrets or negative feelings towards my “old body”. My immediate answer was no. I may have not said this a year ago about my body but I’ve come to learn that every moment spent in my skin has gotten me here.
My old body carried me through many storms: emotional breakdowns, panic attacks, severe emotional eating, the death of my father and a lot more.
It also carried me through many bright moments: completing two university degrees, meeting the love of my life and growing 2 beautiful baby girls.
When I look back at old selfies of myself, my eyes are sad. I wish I could tell my old body, my old self, that everything is going to be okay. That I have made it through worse, and that I am going to be okay.
So in case no one has told you today (whatever you may be going through)
You have made it through worse, you are STRONG and you WILL get through this 💓

I have been taking my new sparkly hips for lots of walks to see what they can do!
I must admit, I am pretty impressed, 10 weeks since my hip replacements and I can walk up some of the very steep hills in Walderslade, ones I would never have even attempted for the last few years.
I really want to join some dancercise classes but my physio said walking is the best thing, so I will have to save that for a later date. 10000 steps today..... this would never have been possible 10 weeks ago! 😊😊😊 Suz xxx

Working mom life coming in hot today! Pretty sure Brax had his worse night of his life last night. He either missed a nap and was overtired, or hes coming down with a cold. He would not fall asleep for the life of him. He then proceeded to wake up ever 2 hours. He's letting me know he's not happy with me going back. Good thing this rotation is much more laid back than next months! .
Feeling pretty exhausted right now, but my body will adjust...right! 😟. .

I’m gonna not-so-humble brag for a sec... I am impressing the 💩 out of myself!! I’m making better choices (overall, because yes I had some Easter chocolate 🍫🐰), doing both my workout and treadmill, and keeping my mindset right! It feels GOOD to be making myself proud!
Ever since I did my nutrition training it’s like a lightbulb went off 💡. You need to fix your shit with food if you want to see some results. Well duh, right But sometimes you need to whack yourself over the head with common sense a few times before it sinks in 😂 I’m down almost 10lbs since my surgery. I lost 1/2 my thyroid and I’m losing weight! I had delayed the surgery so long because I feared that whatever weight I was when I had it was the best it would get. Little did I know that all I needed to overcome that roadblock was a carrot.

Finally managed to get to the top of the mountain! It’s been 6 years since I got to the viewpoint, and this was my first time doing it alone! It felt incredible! I was expecting it to take so much longer to get up (the last time I did it, with my class, it took us 4-5 hours!) but I’m glad it was quicker because I have to go to work for a number of hours yet 😅 My knees did great, and my shin did ok. However I’ve got a nagging spot just below my right knee that’s bugged me for 2.5+ years now, and flared up again today 🤦🏼♀️ depending on how I feel tomorrow, I hope to do this hike again next weekend!

It’s been a minute since I checked in but I promise I’m staying on track! This week there were some new workouts introduced to my regiment such as Dynamix and Pilates! I loved Pilates so much that I decided to do it a second time this morning after X3 Yoga.
Pilates is not just a girls workout gentlemen! It’s very difficult but if you stick with it you’ll definitely feel the burn in your abs by the time you’re done with the X3 workout!
Also, I know I should probably invest in a different hat since I wear my Jacksonville University one so much LOL I can’t help myself! I have a hat-only policy for Saturday’s and I’m reluctant as is to even put on makeup unless I’m going somewhere 😉
Feeling super energized while consuming some plain/no sugar oatmeal and starting a day filled with errands with the hubs, mopping and house cleaning! I love the weekends! .

Took a family friend’s dog for a walk today, felt pretty good until I got home. Now I’m feeling it, not in my knees but in my shin! I hurt my shin back in January (I don’t remember if I posted about it or not) and clearly it’s still not better :/ I’ll be trying to get into the doctor about it next week but for now I’m not sure when my next ride will be...
The weather has been pretty nasty the past few days, so I haven’t been on my bike in a while. However I was able to start rock climbing again today!! I’m super happy, even though I was only able to go up once! Fingers crossed for 2 next week 🤞🏻 I love climbing because it’s helped me build a lot of upper body strength that I don’t necessarily get with cycling!
This was just gone midnight last night when I decided I needed to do a workout as I hadn't done one in the morning 🙈
I have only started static cycling the past couple of weeks. I haven't really done any exercise in 6 years due to my spine so to be able to do 10km on a bike 10 week after surgery, get my heart rate up, sweat and look like a tomato is a huge milestone for me 🍅🙋🏼♀️👏🏻 Still a long way to go but I'm 100% on the right track.. Think this is also my first selfie with no make up on 😂 Do not careeeee - may even be progress pics soon 🙄

Im still at the point post op that i swell a lot when im active, so after gym im finding it important to have a little down time to minimise swelling! (Today both kittehs have joined me). Its definitely better then it was though, small improvements every day!
I feel more clear headed then i have in weeks today and it really paid off in the gym. I didnt feel sick or fuzzy from meds withdrawals, or self conscious about my changing body. Which meant i was much more focused on each exercise and how to use my body and its form! Yay me haha.
I was there for me, to burn energy, to strengthen muscles, to stretch, to release tension, to feel that ultimate rush of endorphins!

I am 72 days post-op and I FINALLY made it all the way around on the bike today. Yes, it’s backwards and slow and jerky but I did it. We’ve been working on this at PT and at home for the past 5 weeks. And for the past 2-3 weeks I have been so very close so when I finally broke through today it was kind of a big deal. In true Sarah fashion, I grunted and yelped through the first few minutes as it did truly hurt, but it did get little better as time passed. 10 weeks post op and today i did sprints for the first time since surgery!
I was honestly terrified my body wasnt up for it, but i did ok considering its been 10 weeks since i did any form of running 🤣.
On the plus side, despite my body being generally achey and sore these days i felt way more comfortable sprinting today than pre op!
I always knew my skin 'got in the way' or caused certain discomforts, but its interesting now post op being able to make comparisons, even just to how i hold or move my body.
Also did boxing and yoga sesh which my body muchly appreciated, releasing energies in different ways!
