It will be much easier to dress in the Fall/Winter. Bring on the oversized sweaters and hoodies! Also, fleece-lined leggings are everything. I’m headed to my surgeon’s office for my 3rd and maybe my last follow-up appt. I decided Wednesday night that I was done with the wet-to-dry dressings on my wound. The part that wasn’t scarring was so small, I figured it’s ok. 🤷🏼♀️🤞🏻 I’ll be healed just in time for next surgery! 🙄 At least this one is supposed to be “minimally invasive” with just a 1 night hospital stay. I’m still waiting to hear if I’ve been accepted into the trial, but I do have a surgery date! I’ll share more about the trial as soon as I get word. 💙
10 weeks post surgery! Saw my Ortho doctor today and was told my bones look like they’re completely healed!!!! Woot woot!! Still no ‘strenuous’ activity for a few months, such as running, but things are looking up! Some pain on the top of foot/ankle (where the Talus bone is) stiff and doesn’t want to move as it is supposed to since my foot was at a 90 degree angle for a long period of time. Physical therapy twice a week will have me back to normal in no time! Scars are looking better each day, too. #trimalleolarfracture #brokenanklerecovery #10weekspostop #journeytorecovery #orif
#71dayspostop well dear #vsgfam today's weigh in was a success and I am officially over halfway to goal weight 🤗
I'm feeling good - I think it's important to say that because I am very vocal when I'm otherwise LOL. I'm feeling lots of other things too, proud, relieved, anxious, excited...scared
Everyday that goes past I learn, experience, feel something new and whilst it may not always be what I want, it is what I need to grow and be awesome.
. *High 5* Steeevie...we're doing alright. .
Side note: I did not go to the gym once this week after the Nexplanon fiasco...this week that excuse is old...time to get back on it
#10weekspostop #aclallmeniscussurgery PT was all different today. We combined the bridges & squishy balls. I had to balance on my involved leg for a minute, got more weight for TKE & Hamstring Curls, more time on the shuttle, and - finally - STEPS!!!
When I walked into the bathroom at the lunch spot I was at in Atlantic Beach today, I was washing my hands and looked up at the mirror and saw this label “you are beautiful”.
It warmed my heart to see a little self love statement. Especially when feeling vulnerable and a little self-conscious on the beach, and being a little hard on my post surgery body, it reminded me that self love isn’t a once in a while thing, but a daily practice. ♥️
Today I was encouraged by my physical therapist and my husband to stop squatting to a box and to focus on ROM (with weight if my form is good).
I won’t lie. I’m terrified of hurting myself (even though I know it’s not really possible). But today I tried it and I was successful. In fact Coach Stevens said my dumbbell thrusters looked good! *
So today was a milestone for me. At 10 weeks post op, I completed my first workout to full squat depth with some weakness but no pain. #crossfit #crossfitburn #crossfitthrusters #gymspiration #ididit #inspiration #progressing #onedayatatime #10weekspostop
Cary Orthopaedics loves to see our patients getting back in motion! Dr. Armour recently did surgery after a patient’s bike accident. Ms. Jenny is a professional athlete and was bummed to be out of training. However, Dr. Armour got her back in action faster than any other patient he’s treated and she is forever grateful. Ms. Jenny states Dr. Armour is amazing and loves our practice! Thanks for sharing your story @jennyk806! 😊🚴🏻♀️ #caryortho #backinmotion #weloveourpatients #Repost @jennyk806 with @get_repost
I did it. After 10 weeks, accident, surgery, screws, donors, I rode my bike in the fresh air 🎉🚴🏽♀️ Our biggest setbacks become our greatest gifts.
LOOK MA, NO HANDS!
Today I woke up, put my boot on, and noticed I wasn’t relying on the crutches as much. So I felt confident in trying to walk, and look at that!!!! I HAVE NOT WALKED IN 11 WEEKS YALL!!!! I could cry!!!!! I can’t do this without the boot, I can’t do this very far, I can’t do this for a long period of time; but I can do this!!! PT has been a blessing/discouraging. Did some more exercises this week and it hit me hard how bad this break was. My brain has pretty much disconnected from my foot (it had every good reason) and it’s almost like I am learning to do everything all over. I can’t bend my toes to scrunch a towel, but I can pick up marbles with them. I have never been more determined in my life to get my foot back to normal. It’s probably going to be a good year, but I can’t wait to be able to do this longer and get *somewhat* back to normal. #physicaltherapy #itreallyworks #anklesurgery #10weekspostop #icandothis #recoverywin #brokenathleteclub #teamnocrutches #pilonfracture #nurse #nursesofig #positivevibes #iamstrong
10 weeks post op - when 40kg feels like 80 😂
First heavy squats, cleans, rope climbs and wall balls.
Lots of rehab work and still a long way but I can't wait to join the rest of the crew for unmodified workouts soon 😍❤
