Just real life over here today. Sometimes we just lose it: mamas, baby, kids alike. Sometimes its over silly things and sometimes we are really upset.
Toddler tantrums #toddlertantrums happen. But usually it isn’t defiance. Usually it is frustration or overwhelm or exhaustion. And what they need isn’t discipline. They need you to teach them what is the appropriate way to respond to the stressful situation so that they learn how to handle it differently next time.
Now, don’t get me wrong, mamas. Toddlers love to push the boundaries and see what they can get away with. #mischievoustoddler But at the end of the day, you are the parent and one of your responsibilities is to teach them how to manage their feelings (or big emotions as we like to call them). Today in my IG stories you’ll see my real life lunchtime battle with my #20monthsold son. It was epic! If you missed it, check out my #toddlertips highlight reel and you’ll see it there. Let’s learn together.
Stay calm and talk to them, helping them find a better way to deal with their big emotions. Stay consistent. Inconsistency causes confusion and can add to the emotional outbursts.

SIMPLE SIZE DISCRIMINATION.... This was a quick setup to work on size discrimination. It’s very easy for her to self correct with these materials. (For each cup to be filled the smallest ball must go in the smallest cup ect..) Big & little small & large are a part of her vocabulary that she understands easily, but we’re working on medium. I’m hoping this game will not only help her with her visual discrimination but increase her vocabulary and understanding of the relationship of different sizes. #shallweplaytoday #sizediscrimination #montessori #diytoys #toddlertoys #20monthsold
