Sometimes I’m still there, but the difference between success and failure is doing the work even when you don’t feel like it or want to.
When you’re tired, when you’re bored, when you’re inconvenienced, do you do what you NEED to do, or what you FEEL/WANT to do.
If you want success find someone that can push you, someone that can motivate you and drive you and get your butt moving and stay focused. Narrow your sights and need to achieve your goal as much as you want to breathe.

Even if you don’t do #75hard with me, this podcast is invaluable. I can’t not feel motivated when I listen to it. It’s not about motivation, it’s about discipline - but I’m still more motivated than I’ve ever been. And tomorrow, who knows, I might not feel motivated at all. But the work has to get done anyway. .
One of the first episodes I listened to was “You get what you expect.” It was exactly what I needed to hear. He talked about how to push yourself you have to draw from times you were successful in the past. I thought “well what if I’ve never been successful at this” Then Andy read my mind and answered my question. He said that if you’ve never been successful you have to keep going long enough to build confidence and momentum.
Today I felt that confidence and momentum increase tenfold. I didn’t want to do a bare minimum work out. I actually wanted to push myself and I did for both workouts. It felt awesome. A month ago I would have laughed in your face if you told me I would willingly be jogging and pushing myself hard on the elliptical and weight training. I’m *only* on day 9 and I’ve *only* lost 8lbs but I already feel a thousand times better mentally than I did on day 1.
There’s a lot of vulnerability in letting myself feel confident and joy and really any emotion at all. I’ve been numbing out for a long time now. I don’t like to feel happy because it would be that much worse if it comes crashing down. But I can’t let those fears, or any emotions control me anymore. I have to do what I have to do no matter what I feel that day. Even right now I have a twinge of doubt posting these thoughts because I’m not “far enough” into this challenge to be feeling so good about it. Well my inner critic can just sit down and take a backseat. This is how I feel and I want to share it, if only so I can read it to myself later. ❤️ .

Here is a recipe for keto that I took from my regular menu and made keto. I find if I take a recipe I already know and substitute veggies for carbs we still enjoy just as much but its healthier. This is my keto version of cajun stuffed bell peppers. Usually I use rice and corn but I swapped them out for broccoli and cauliflower "rice" and brussel sprouts. It made about 2 meals for 2 people.
All ingredients are approximate and so are macros.
5 small sweet peppers
Caramelize and set aside
1 cajun sausage roll
Cook and set aside
I bag of "rice"
1 box brussel sprouts
Steamed and mixed
Half a box of tillamook queso cheese mix
Some seasonings and stir all together.
So yummy that you might forget how much veggies are in it. This helps keep us on track with our 75hard challenge.

Day 3 of the #75hard restart. This is the comparison from last Wednesday to today. I think I’ll start doing this every Monday. There isn’t a ton of difference, but I do see some. Not bad for less than a week. I weigh myself daily, but when I first start working out, I never lose weight until month 2, so I’ve learned not to worry about it much other than to track variables. I’m pretty proud of myself so far. If you are wanting to start or quit something, just make the decision and do it. Don’t keep putting it off and making excuses for yourself. My favorite way to move is dancing in Zumba class. I started Zumba when my daughter was four and just continue do it! Now I am a Zumba instructor. Thanks to LaShonda for encouraging me to get my certification! I lost thirty pounds doing Zumba once. It is so fun I forget that I am working out. I went extremely light today. It was shoulder heavy. Used it to rehab/recover any lagging pain from that weird shit that went down with my shoulder the other day. Increased volume and focused on form. ⠀

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
Frozen Chicken Breasts
Teriyaki Sauce- 1 Cup
Sesame Oil- 2 tsp
Minced Garlic- 2 tsp
Lemon Juice- 1/4 cup
Frozen Vegetables(your choice)
-Thaw chicken breasts. Once thawed, put chicken in gallon size bag and mix in teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix around in the bag and coat all the chicken breasts.
-Let them marinate for 8-12 hours.
-Next day, Grill chicken.
-Cook vegetables and cauliflower on stove top.

We all struggle. We all wanna hit snooze. We all make mistakes. Don’t make the biggest mistake of all - acting perfect.
Everyone posts their highlight reel online. And each time they do they tighten the self imposed shackles. .
Being “perfect” is draining. You have to keep up the facade. You can’t lean on others because it would ruin the image you built of perfection, of needing no support because you do everything right the first time. .
Real freedom is admitting you aren’t perfect and not being afraid to admit your faults. A freedom that allows you to not only mess up (like we all do) but to lean on your people for support. To suffer together and to grow with no “image” needing to be upheld. .
We all fall short of our goals and if you continue to compare yourself to social media and the false belief that there are people out there that are perfect you will never find happiness or freedom. .
Our faults are part of the story. Not something that should be hidden. Fail more often. Fail more publicly. Fail with some dignity. Fail with me. I fail all the time and that is why I’m free. That is why I succeed. That is why I am at peace. When I sleep at night I sleep well knowing each failure is one step closer to my goals. .
