Today’s Paint & A Pour was all about playing, trying new things I hadn’t tried before. I busted out some rubbing alcohol & vodka to test with my paints/markers/gouache etc. The vodka took gold (natch, it’s vodka), the rubbing alcohol stained the paper and was dumb.
Thank you to everyone who joined live & to everyone who watched/watches the replay. It’s fun “hanging out” with you gorgeous beasts!
The gouache I mentioned loving is @holbeinartistmaterials brand
The vodka I used (I drank the rest of the shot glass, even though there was a hint of ink in it. It’s too smooth to waste, come on!) was a local Toronto pour, @spiritofyork .
The artist I mentioned, who does beautiful drawings, is @jmcameronrock (her stippling work is wicked!)
some people try hard to achieve their dreams and sometimes succeed. but some do not. Some of them easily get it without obstacles.
if it works, it's not only because of our efforts. but it's a gift from God. And if it fails, it's not the end. it's a delayed success. so keep trying and trying until it works and never give up 😤
P series no 3
Acrylic on canvas
Title: The big one. I think I nailed it with this one. Rare but who am I to say otherwise. The good news is that at actual size this is approx 1.5 x 1m. Don’t forget that you can use a colour on your walls.
A few of you have asked me my favorite products I use and this is one of them! ❤️ It’s an awesome alternative to brush on varnish. I use it on pour paintings or paintings with super soft surfaces that I don’t want to alter with heavy brushstrokes over the top of. This product line comes in many different finishes, matte, ultra gloss etc. It’s amazing what a difference a finish can do to a paintings overall aesthetic in addition to its archival properties. #marleehayesart #nowyaknow
