🎬 Cocktails For Two
Hi! My name is Lexie. Let me share with you the story of me and my best friend, Tanya – our downfalls and how we got back on our asses. Trust me, this is going to be one hell of a ride.
Cocktails for Two is a story about two best friends who always have their lives figured out but got smacked really hard on the face by reality and ended up nowhere near close to where they wanted to be.
I love this 👍

Sneak peek at me, walking up to a fancy afternoon tea in London all by myself ☕️ || Yesterday was the most magical day in the happiest place on earth! We celebrated Father’s Day in Disneyland, and it was amazing. You can check my story for some fun pics and videos from our day! ✨
Don’t forget! You can support me & the blog on Ko-Fi! As you all know, London is coming up and I want to be able to do some really cool things to show you guys and write about, and if you pop over onto Ko-Fi, I’ll be able to do lots more of those neat things.
I’m working on a new blog post for you, and it should be ready to go by the end of the day! Who’s ready to know what I’m reading over the summer 📚
I’m going to be seeing formatting symbols in my sleep but it’s worth it to make sure Family Binds is perfect for you. July 16th will be here before we know it.
Here are very useful writing tips.
I am about 30% done writing this novel. It will be my first non-paranormal, non-horror work. I’d call it a psychological thriller/mystery with spooky surrealist atmosphere. I started writing this at the behest of my mom who loves a good detective story and does not super love horror 😂 #lookma @kylelaine58
Our 6-year old recently told us we can quit our jobs because he was going to make us rich. When I asked what he was going to do to get rich, he said, Drive a taxi! 😳 Umm...maybe I should keep my jobs for now He took this photo of me when I was practicing #handstands so maybe he’s a budding photographer too But I don’t know if that will make us rich either...🤔 #amwriting #yogainstructor
Good evening, darlings!! ✨🌼✨
It’s day 17 of #fantasywipjune and it’s time to BASH my wip 😈😈
*sips tea aggressively* where do I begin Does this book have terrible, overused tropes Absolutely. Friends to enemies to lovers, check. Warring families brought together by starcrossed lovers. Check. A chosen one fated to save the day. Yup. Does it have cheesy, brooding men and sassy, badass women In SHIPLOADS. Do the pirates say aye You betcha. And don’t even get me started on the plot holes, the grammar disasters, and the unfinished storylines. And it’s not even finished yet! Will people hate it Most likely! But do I care...no way. I wouldn’t change a word of this book. (Well, I’m going to change a lot of them, since I still have to finish and edit it. But you get my point 😏). .
Oh, and to answer yesterday’s question, the worst parent in DotD is Tarran and Saeth’s dad, Weylin. He complains always, and doesn’t do anything productive. He’s an all around prick. .
Q: any overused, underdeveloped elements in your story ✨🌼✨

Writing is back on the menu, boys.
Hey everyone! Lots happening in my life so I thought it was time for a more complete update. As many of you know, I like writing. I like writing A LOT. I’ve been wanting to pursue it as a full-time career for awhile now and have dabbled my toes in the water a bit, but never completely committed.
But in the past year, I’ve moved to the other side of the country, gotten engaged, and now I have Baby #1 on the way. Life has gotten a bit, well, complicated. What I realized is that if I want to be a writer, I need to stop being afraid and just do it (Nike©). So here’s the deal: I’m coming at y’all full-force and I’m coming with a pen (or computer keyboard) in hand. I’m embracing the colorful, wordy, creative, incredibly silly artist that is me and bringing you stories until you are sick of me!
Here’s what you can look forward to:
-New Novelette Series
-Free Short Stories -Blog Posts about stories, writing, and life in general
-Fun newsletters and email giveaways
-A NOVEL (more on that very soon)
-And me just being ridiculously me per usual

I’m back, y’all. And you don’t want to miss anything that happens next.

“Good writers are monotonous, like good composers. They keep trying to perfect the one problem they were born to understand.” ~Alberto Moravia
For years, I’ve asked the same question, “What does it mean to belong” Moravia’s words have proven true not only in my life as a writer, but simply as a human being. One doesn’t need to be a writer or composer to identify and seek answers to the common themes in their life.
I wish someone had told me to look for the threads tying my life together–look for the themes and questions that continued to knit their way into my soul. It took me nearly seven years of writing to discover what problem I’ve been trying to understand and a lifetime before that.
I’ve asked many questions and spilled much ink while asking myself what it means to belong, and yet I feel so far from perfecting an answer. I’m comforted by the fact that I’m not the only one who continues circling around the same idea–all of the great artists do. And the not-so-great artists. And the rest of us ordinary people too.
Every day I step into the questions in faith, I grow closer to an answer. I tie scraps of string to mark my way, moving forward and back and forward again. It’s a journey with paths that diverge and cross and lead to places of loss and also wonder.
What a miracle it is to step into the mystery with my words as a guide, making peace with the fact that I may never find the answers, but perhaps the answers will find me.
What is the one problem/theme/idea you find yourself returning to again and again What helps you understand
1/28/2003, My mother passed. An, almost, seventeen-year-old phantom that haunts me every day. Today, I share this with you. My first nonfiction piece, “A Rose in Amber’s Casket,” published by the Grief Diaries. (Link in my bio.)
Thank you, @bluejuniper and the team of the Grief Diaries, for giving my phantom a home. I don’t like sharing much about my existence, but this one has been a long time coming.
