I accidentally slept until 11 this morning 🤭 Good thing I don’t have class until 1:30 on Fridays!
The past couple of weeks have been nonstop challenging, but that’s normal for the middle of the semester. Can’t believe week six has come and gone! I’ve been sick for the past month with a cough, and this week I’ve been dealing with sinus stuff. Mix that with stress and lack of sleep, and my body definitely needed the rest...hoping to have some time to recover this weekend between school work and work-work. And hopefully I have a chance to grocery shop this weekend!

🌿 1 Tbsp blueberry powder 🍃 1 tsp pure vanilla extract ••
Store this in the fridge, and use about 2 tablespoons per drink.
Added it to homemade coconut milk blended with ice, and a freshly whisked shot of matcha🙌🏽🙌🏽

Chemotherapy, surgery, immunotherapy, or radiation therapy...the goal for cancer patients is to MAINTAIN weight and avoid weight loss which can lead to malnutrition, which in turn leads to reduced treatment dosages, exacerbated side effects, and slower recovery.
Large meals can seem overwhelming or unappealing during treatment with a decreased appetite or early satiety. What to try to keep eating well!⬇️👏🏼
➡️Eat small meals 6 to 8 times a day instead of 3 main meals.
➡️Serve smaller food portions on salad plates instead of dinner plates.
➡️Drink hot chocolate, fruit juices, and nectars that are high in calories.
😊Have your favorite snack foods available at home and at work.
➡️Eat your favorite foods at any time of the day. For example, eat breakfast foods such as pancakes or omelets for lunch or dinner.
➡️Include different colors and textures of foods in your meals to make them more appealing.
➡️Smells, such as bread baking or bacon frying, may help boost your appetite (unless you have nausea, then keep smells to a minimum)

We are all human and most of us do not have a perfect diet, and that’s OK! However certain foods in particular can cause flare ups with acne, rosacea, and eczema just to name a few. And certain foods can even cause premature aging. The two main culprits in skin issues are:
1️⃣ Sugar 🍭 Eating too much sugar can increase inflammation which can aggravate conditions like acne and eczema. Sugar also causes glycation in the skin, which means that it binds to skin proteins like collagen and destroys it 😔 This can cause wrinkling, loss of elasticity, accelerated aging and compromised barrier function.
2️⃣ Dairy 🥛 Eating high amounts of dairy can disrupt your insulin levels and make your skin more prone to acne. Some dairy cows are treated with artificial hormones which can disrupt your own hormone levels and create issues with acne and other skin conditions.
It’s hard to avoid these foods all the time, my advice is to just be MINDFUL 😊 Foods that are GREAT for your skin are:
