Arts Center Station living up to its name. 🎨
WOW. Looking back, I’m blown away by the @mydeanslist community we have been building - with people who have touched my life immensely. But it’s also okay to take a break when you need one and it’s ok to ask for help. I’ve had to remind myself of that this past month. 💠
As a unique digital branding and career consulting company, @mydeanslist mission is to help diverse people connect with one another, sharing each other's stories to make the world a better, more empathetic place. Part of that vision includes propelling the effort to build a global community of empowered people who will help one another succeed.
To focus more on our mission (we know it’s lofty, but necessary) of uplifting ALL of humanity, the CLT Dean’s List Team is taking a break from our regular online services, Dinners, & Meetups for a while to put all hands on deck for @Empower_Con, Charlotte's premier all-encompassing inclusion conference on 9/28/19 at the Charlotte Convention Center!
Sometimes it’s hard for me to ask for help. I don’t want to disappoint anyone, inconvenience anyone, or add stress to an already busy schedule. But, we can’t do this alone. We need VOLUNTEERS and we need SPONSORS. 🙏
Please DM me if you’re interested in purchasing a booth, being a vendor, or volunteering! We also have a special discount code for Dean’s List community members - can’t wait to see you in September! 🎫
You can never get enough fried chicken while in the South… here it’s presented on a cushion of baby kale panzanella and cornbread with a hot pepper honey butter glaze. Don’t forget the deviled eggs and cauliflower grits ya’ll. 😋🍴👅💦🍗🥬🍞🥚🥃
*** #ATLANTA *** I NEED A KIDS HAIR MODEL! If you and your little one are available tomorrow at 5pm PLEASE message me. Thank you!!
While actors have very little control over their career arc in terms of booking work, goal setting is a critical component of enduring a career in the arts. I use the word endure for a reason-it’s a war of attrition. Survive long enough, while also investing in yourself, and opportunities will come along.
Effort+time+talent ≠ success
An actor can control three elements of their career:
•their materials-(headshot, resume, demo reel)-what people “see” of them. •their training-(classes, workshops, intensives)-the tools in their tool belt. •their mental game-(positive attitude, long term focus, ability to deal with rejection and bounce back)-what keep them from quitting.
Beyond that, almost everything is out of an actor’s control. There are zero barriers to entry into this industry and at the same time, no linear path to success. The best actors often go unseen.
Goal setting is one way an actor can create tangible, bite sized action items to have a positive impact on future opportunities.
What’s one goal you’re challenging yourself with for the rest of 2019 (166 days to go)... #FindTheFun #Motivation #Actor #Acting #Hollywood #Atlanta #BestSelfEver #RiseAndGrind #Triathlon #Triathlete #IRONMAN #BuildTheEngine #LoveThePain #TheApproach #ClimbTheMountain #ActorRoadmap #ChooseYourPath #YouAreEnough
