Cheers 🍻 to another year of life! The past year was full of growing pains and setbacks, but also an abundance of milestones and opportunities. Thank you 🙏🏼 to all my family and homies for the unending love and support. Also, thanks for all the birthday wishes and to those who were able to celebrate with me. #grateful
Deep breath......I opened it up for the first time in months. It made me a little bit emotional, like seeing a very good friend in a long time.
I almost felt like I should apologize to the characters. As if they let out a sigh of relief and reminded me of their tasks and lives.
One day, hopefully not too long from today, I will see this title on more than a computer screen. It's a dream, sure, but it is one that makes me feel good.

Understand some basic principles of having a rental property. You can write off your losses during tax season. Get a great CPA or tax professional. #realestateinvesting

How do you make a "have to" situation bearable
I don't work on Sunday. Sunday is my ME day. It's the only day of the week I don't take on any obligations, unless it's to meet a friend for coffee or go on a hike or binge watch TV or whatever...
But today, I've had to work. Even though it's a Sunday. 😔
I started a new teaching position at Washington State University in Vancouver, and it's definitely been an adjustment. Not only am I teaching a class I've never taught before (Technical and Professional Writing), I'm required to follow a pre-set curriculum and use pre-set assignments. AND... I have a 3-hour mass transit commute two days a week, becuase for the first time in 7 years, I'm back in the classroom rather than online.
That might sounds like there won't be much work involved, but not true! There's even MORE work involved... understanding a new culture, getting keys to access my office (which I've yet to get), figuring out their Learning Management System, reading the text, preparing lesson plans, creating a syllabus, and on and on...
So, to make sure I'm on top of it all, I've been working. To make it not feel so invasive, I wandered over to Fields Park, just a half-block from my lovely new place. Sitting in the sun cooled by the perfect breeze and watching people play with their kids and their dogs made it okay. ✨
Still more work to do this evening and a full, full week ahead, but I'm making it work. 🙏

Not physically working is not the same as resting, dear soul. If your mind still labors, your body still tires. Your nerves still fray. Your spirit still grows weary. Healthy societies honor renewal. Sick societies encourage exhaustion. Your guilt about resting enslaves your generations and makes your oppressor joyful. You need gatherings. Rest is a gathering for your soul. Make these things your lifestyle: retreat, respite, solitude, quietude, contemplation, release, self forgiveness, day dreaming. Re-womb yourself. Let your mind fall into peace. You can learn to let go of the adrenaline soaked tasking rope, and breathe. Practice letting go of the rope. Each time, reassure yourself: I heal now so I can work more beautifully in the garden of my miraculous life. @jaiyajohn

"HOUSE OF SALT AND SORROW" is #1 on my TBR list this week after I finish a hot little romance I will share over the next day or so. *
This is Butterscotch. She enjoys playing fetch with elastics, laying on my books, and escaping to the forbidden outside world. She is by far the sweetest, most tolerant cat I have ever known. She loves kisses. I mean like hundreds a day. She even butts my mouth for one. We love her. 😻
What book is at the top of your TBR list
It’s so hard not to shut down in the mist of a storm. However, I want to encourage you to Remain open about being taught what to do next. Remain open to being guided, supported and protected by the universe. Wishing you all have a Nice beginning of your Week :-) 🌟
“It was previously a question of finding out whether or not life had to have a meaning to be lived. It now becomes clear on the contrary that it will be lived all the better if it has no meaning”
''Our passing through this earth is so absurd and fleeting, that it only calms me to know that I have been authentic,
that I have managed to be the most similar to myself that I could."
