You bring so much light, love, happiness, & warmth to our lives every single day.
Never stop smiling Axel Charlie 🌼
I started this business for selfish reasons.
Me. My goals. Things I wanted. I wanted to quit my jobs and be my own boss. I wanted to have a nice new car. I wanted to be able to afford to get my hair and nails done, buy new clothes for myself, and one day stay home with my babies.
But once I started, I realized this was about so much more than just me.
When we had Emmett, Matt was gone for work within a couple of days. And I don’t mean gone for a few hours and home for dinner. He’s a pilot. He was gone for days, overnight, in a hotel. I was a new mom, first baby, exhausted, confused, terrified that this was all on me... and I was alone. I remember the first night I was on my own Emmett was in a growth spurt. He was so hungry and my milk supply wasn’t keeping up. From midnight to 2 am he cried and couldn’t get anything from me. And I cried with him. I was close to putting my new baby in the car and driving to Walmart to buy some formula.
And not just that, but for the first year of Emmett life, Matt was constantly gone on trips. I’m talking 9 days in a row saying goodnight to his firstborn on FaceTime.
When we found out we were pregnant with Easton that was the first time Matt entertained the idea of quitting his job for a while so he could be home with us.
See... Matt LOVED flying. But this job he had was not what was promised. He was being put on the schedule way more than what they told him to expect. They offered him raises for it and some small bonuses, but no amount of money could make up for the lost moments with his family. Even his days “off” he was on standby, so we had to stay near home just in case.
After a situation at that job a few months before Easton was born, Matt left the company. It was unexpected. His guaranteed paycheck was gone. We had a choice- he could find a new job, or be a full time dad.
For a year and a half he’s been home with us. Finishing the basement, the yard, the rest of the house, and making memories with his boys. Until a new opportunity came along that truly seems like his DREAM job.
He’s a contract pilot now. He sets his hours. He picks the trips he goes on.
This CHOICE he got to make... it’s because of thisbusiness
