My last job consisted of 8hours of photo editing and I had great difficulty staying still that long without being uncomfortable and feeling stiffness in multiple areas of my body, especially from my hips. From my research, I found that we are really not meant to be in this sitting position (a seated squat is best); makes sense actually. 🤔 In the recent years, the adjustable standing desk, stability balls, and in house gyms have become a little popular amongst the more “modern and conscious” business offices. Unfortunately, most do not have those -as employers would call them “luxuries”... Anyhow, it is crucial that we take matters into our own hands and take breaks from our desks to walk and stretch especially if we are not exercising regularly. I personally know of a few people that have suffered from #bulgingdisks and #sciatica due to years of constant sitting and weak glutes, abs, and tight hips. I almost became one of those people. 🙋🏻♀️😕 .

DESK STRETCH MONDAYS .
This week's DeskStretchMondays post is attacking the hips. As you sit in your office chair all day, your hip just sits there in its neutral position.
This one is a classic and you've most likely seen it before. It's known as the Figure 4 stretch. But...what you may not have seen is how you can modify it for yourself. The reason we do this is to open up some external rotation, but it requires a fair amount of rotation just to get into position, and if you don't have that, it can leave you scratching your head.😕
