He hablado en varios posts sobre la meditación y los beneficios que tiene para la salud FÍSICA y MENTAL. .
Hoy les comparto mis tips para empezar a meditar. Obviamente nadie nace sabiendo meditar, es algo que se aprende y se practica. Cada vez será mejor que la anterior si eres constante. Como yo empecé fue con el tip de l respiración y del tiempo. Después, encontré que la música instrumental ( siempre la misma) ayuda a eliminar el ruido exterior, enfocarte solo en la respiración y cada vez que pongas esa música, el cerebro ya sabe que debe entrar en otro mindset y cada vez será más fácil meditar. .
Empieza con esos patrones de respiración, contando en silencio y tratar de solo pensar en la respiración, estar en el presente. De eso se trata todo! .

I saw this online somewhere recently. I can’t remember where but this is a great question! So often, even the challenges that we don’t want in our lives have some kind of secondary gain that makes it harder to let go of. I have seen this in my own life and with my clients. 
Because the primary function of the mind is survival and protection, it will do all kinds of things to help us avoid pain. I have seen with many clients where low confidence or self esteem actually has a secondary gain. It can stop someone from getting out of their comfort zone and putting themselves “out there” (in personal or professional life) and in the process to avoid rejection. Usually there has been some kind of childhood experience of rejection that left an indelible imprint on their subconscious mind which then leads to a pattern of creating traits and situations that will avoid rejection at all costs. 
So in order to actually let go of a problem or negative pattern, it’s important to figure out what it might actually be giving you that you might not be fully aware of and then work to resolve that underlying issue to help alleviate the presenting symptom. 
One of my favourite approaches I use with clients within our hypno-sessions is to find out the role that part of them (the problem) is playing In their lives and then work to release that. People are sometimes surprised and amazed at what comes up for them and often have powerful breakthroughs leading to letting go of that part, resulting in the positive change they want.

So often, even the challenges that we don’t want in our lives have some kind of secondary gain that makes it harder to let go of. I have seen this in my own life and with my clients. It was at my breaking point I made a vow to take better care of myself so I can be the best mom I can be. In the airplane they tell you to put the oxygen mask on yourself FIRST then your children. If you go down, who is going to make sure the kids get their mask on and to safety? The same goes for life. I am full of life, energy, pride and most importantly, I am HAPPY and that is the mother my children deserve. One who is present, both physically and emotionally. Fitness is my "me time", the only time I get for just ME and it benefits my children greatly. My oldest is so supportive of my lifestyle because she saw first hand the difference it made in our lives. Being that I am raising 3 girls, it's very important I model this for them because I want them to take great care of themselves too. They deserve it, you deserve it. Please, put yourself first. Retrain your brain, it ISN'T selfish. It's for them.

Keep things manageable. Keep things current. If chores never pile up, they are never overwhelming. If we deal with things as needed, we never have mountains of clutter. If hurts are forgiven quickly, they never turn into anger, resentment, and bigger problems. If things and money are given away generously, we don’t get in the habit of hoarding things just to ourselves. 
This is my clean laundry. It takes only a few minutes to throw a load in the washer every morning, a few minutes to switch it to the dryer later and a little bit to fold, match socks and have the children put them away. It’s manageable for them to too. They aren’t looking at a mountain of laundry to put away. Just a few items. It’s bite sized chores we do every day, the maintainable things, that keep our home running smoothly without getting out of hand. 
On a normal week/day I could take on way more. The house is maintained in a breeze, the laundry is done up, school is done and we have plenty of time for other interests. It’s these weeks that it doesn’t seem as necessary to just have minimal stuff. But it’s weeks when we have company almost every night, stay up late ministering and praying with people, or big changes happening that I remember so clearly our why. It’s so these days of preparing to move cross country can be manageable regardless of all the extra changes and things that have to be done, sold, signed and taken care of. Its so I can prepare to fly with my children half a world away and not stress about all the things still waiting to do in order to move when we get home. Because while there is more work during this time, it’s manageable because it’s been maintained and because there is less to do in general. Because regardless of what the day holds I can wash my load of laundry, vacuum my floors, wash the dishes, sing songs with my kids, snuggle in for a missionary story at night and not be overwhelmed by a to-do list because, well, there’s just not a whole lot to do!

I write down 3 things that I’m grateful for, along with 3 affirmations. 💜My life has not changed drastically but I have noticed a slight shift in my mindset. Which has led me to appreciate and be present in the NOW. 💙This morning was like many but I stopped and took in the moment. It was PERFECT. 💕🥰 Background: My love works shift work and I’m a teacher. There are often many days were we barely see each other. He’s coming home as I’m leaving or our family schedule has us going in different directions. So finding time to connect can be difficult (especially during hockey season! 🥅🏒). 💜This morning was another “in passing” interaction. However, we took a few moments to soak in each other’s presence. As I laid next to my love, I just marvelled at how perfect the moment was. It melted my heart. 💖 💙This perfect moment wasn’t “movie” worthy. We weren’t in front of fireplace in a cabin up in the mountains 🏔 or in a tropical 🏝 location with view silky white sand and crystal clear blue water. We were in our bedroom which is most definitely not magazine spread worthy!! 😆 💜Because I actually laid there and these thoughts came into my mind, I know this practice of gratitude has shifted my mindset. I was deeply grateful for THIS moment. 💙I was present not thinking of the day ahead or the current burdens and hardships in my life. They didn’t steal this moment. 💜Friends be present in the moment. That moment will never come again. 💙Be thankful for that moment.

Learned how to make a traditional lei from Ti leaves today at @uhlyonarboretum! It’s sticky work but with similar process to braiding or making rope. The leaves were first cut in half and then frozen so the cellulose would break down and the leaves would be malleable. 😊🌺🌿

As I finally sit down on my couch and reflect on the day, thankfulness for the community I am a part of is what fills my heart.

A little confession and hard truth here...being a stay at home mom does not come easily nor naturally to me. I am a people person and find a lot of joy and contentment in work and achievement through it. When I left my full time job to stay home with (at that time) just my daughter, I was worried about being lonely and disconnected. I was honestly afraid of being bored hanging out with littles all day long and not having a purpose outside of them.

And I had good reason to be worried. It is so easy to become wrapped up in house duties, sassy six year olds, and a rambunctious toddlers, and be left tired and empty at the end of the day. This does in fact happen some days and today was one of them. When that evening witching hour hit all I wanted to do was go lay down in silence for a little...but I couldn't because I had a couple calls scheduled with my coaching family. And I thank God that I did!

Just 20 minutes of check-ins with my Virtual Gym community and two coach calls later and I am a NEW PERSON! I ALWAYS walk away from my job feeling energized, motivated, inspired, full, happy, supported, and a part of something greater than myself. I am thankful for the fellowship and life this job and community brings me. Forever thankful ❤️

As I finally sit down on my couch and reflect on the day, thankfulness for the community I am a part of is what fills my heart. . A little confession and hard truth here...being a stay at home mom does not come easily nor naturally to me. I am a people person and find a lot of joy and contentment in work and achievement through it.
