To escape detection by a ramble of malnourished rucksacks a convenience of shopping trolleys must be able to hide at a moment's notice. Decreasing visibility is paramount so the surface area must be reduced immediately. This requires the execution of a column formation with split-second precision. Practice makes perfect, and alleyways make a perfect location.

Unicorn of the sea! There’s a lot of polar destinations that are simpler, easier, and cheaper. But if your thing is rare, elusive, almost mythical creatures. Then there’s no other place then the floe edge expedition in Canada’s high Arctic. I was not delusional about getting that tusk display that had Paul Nicklen returning season after season for 6 years; my friends have told me that a good photographable tusk display is rare. So as any photographer planning their shoot, visualizing compositions. I went out and bought a drone, I justified the pricey investment, as this may just be that once in a lifetime opportunity. When the moment arise to get that shot, I realized the drone may have to be a bit closer to them then I’d be comfortable with. From my perspective they looked smaller then a polar bear, are incredibly sensitive to sound, and super shy. So the mission was aborted, and though it’s not the composition I had in mind, I was thrilled to have seen and photographed these majestic creatures and in such a beautiful setting nonetheless. In my opinion a good wildlife photographer is always bound by your luck, persistence, patience, and ethical consideration. With @baffin.safari #baffinisland, #nunavut, #canada. 05/2019.

Cuttlefish have always been a object of fascination for me, truly the closest things we have to terresial aliens 💙🐙💙 The skin of a cuttlefish is a layered screen controlled directly by the brain. A web of neurons extends throughout the body, coordinating millions of pixel-like sacs of colour to produce the otherworldly displays we love so much!

When the last bite on the planet will be over you won't eat money,
When the last drop on the planet will be over you won't drink money,
When one last time the sun will shine you won't cover yourself with money,
When you will breathe your last your money won't buy you another life,
No money can buy what is required to be happy in the life of a depressed person. It is good to work hard and earn a good or decent amount of money, to fill all the basic needs of good living or good lifestyle, to survive with pride in the society. That much amount of money is only required to live a happy life with your family.
But the time has changed, money has become the fundamental unit of power and survival. People are doing all what is wrong to earn the extra bit of money which would ultimately be dumped in the corners of the cupboards. Murder, crime, abuse, slaughtering, animal abuse and cruelty are all born of money and greed. Money has become greater than the emotions and happiness of life. The fact has become true that 'The world has become more economical than being environmental.' #money #greed #power #crime #murder #abuse #cruelty #animalslaughter #wakeuppeople #gogreen #blueplanet #togetherwecan #awareness #sensibleliving #saveenvironment #saveearth #saveothers #saveanimals #love #peace #spreadlove #spreadpeace #spreadeducation #education #share #idea #anonymous_earth_person

Every once in a while, some one does something special that sparks a glimmer of hope🙏🏽 they serve as a reminder that despite all the damage that the human race does to this beautiful world 🌎 around around us, there are people out there who will work tirelessly to counter the damage!
This time it was a 10 year old boy in my children’s school who used his birthday money to buy cotton bags, and made beautiful little designs on them and sold them at the schools summer fair 🌸 to raise money to help preserve this beautiful animal #Vaquita #saveourseas #sealife #planetearth #Nature #blueplanet #vetstudent #Marine #biology #vetschoollife 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
Ever look at the surface of a swimming pool at the end of the day, and see that sun creamy layer of grime Now imagine how polluting that same sunscreen is to our oceans... Every year 14,000 tones (!!!) of sun cream settles on our coral reefs, and the chemicals (oxybenzone and octinoxate) used in over 3,500 sunscreen products contaminate the sea algae which they depend on for nourishment and to breathe. Not only has @caudalie's suncare range been designed to cause the least environmental impact (omitting both these chemicals and hydrosoluble filters), but they have also joined forces with both @coralguardian to restore and protect coral reefs in Indonesia (which these year alone will see more than 3000 corals transplanted, restored and protected) and with @reef_world, to put in place an educational program in Antigua and Barbuda to protect the marine ecosystem. Whilst protecting our skin this summer, let's also make sure to protect the oceans we love to enjoy... 💛🐚 #ProtectYourSkin #ProtectNature #Ad
Is your suncream bleaching the coral reef 😬
14,000 tonnes worth of suncream flush into our oceans every year. Chemicals such as OXYBENZONE and octinoxate are often found in suncream and affect the lifecycle of the coral, ultimately resulting in bleaching.
80% coral in the Caribbean has been lost in the last 50 years due to pollution, coastal development and warming waters.
Even if you don’t swim in the sea, washing suncream off in the shower will eventually end up in the ocean, causing the same problem. Aerosol suncream is the worst as large volumes don’t even make it into you, and spray into the sand. Then they easily wash into the sea.
Choose mineral based suncream containing e.g (non nano) zinc oxide or titanium dioxide or those marked with a ‘reef safe’ symbol. @rawelementsusa is just one example of coral safe suncream (I found it quite thick tho). Others include @sunbum and @bluelizardsun.
If encounter a happy globe of anthias like this I immediately want to join in on the merry dance around the coral. Unfortunately reality will always catch up and I’m left with a surface interval of memories in orange and blue. I guess there is always next time, right ;)

Repost from @karmagawa
Over 1 million marine animals — dolphins, fish, sharks, turtles and birds — are killed each year due to plastic debris in the ocean as there‘s an estimated 100 million tons of plastic in oceans around the world...and its only getting worse with an estimated 60 billion pounds of plastic to be produced this year alone! We at Karmagawa are determined to stop this madness before it’s too late, especially considering there’s even more #plasticpollution on land too, so after we premiere our @savethereef documentary this June for #worldreefday and #worldoceanday we will begin work on a massive new project to #endplasticpollution before it completely destroys our planet. But we cannot win this battle alone, we must ALL work together to change our ways before it’s too late so please share this post with your followers, tag people in the comments so they can be made aware of the damage being done and think about dolphins and all the other incredible animals of our planet before you use another plastic bag...as you can see it can be deadly! Great video by Julian Jordan from his short film “The Last Straw” (thanks to our amazing community for continuing to send us these important videos to share with everyone!)
Javanese cownose rays (Rhinoptera javanica) ~ An extraordinary encounter with an animal thats been on my Ningaloo Reef bucket list for a while. The rays looked like they may have been mating or courting but its yet to be confirmed. I’ve been told stories of these rays schooling in the hundreds here on Ningaloo but had yet to ever see them. I’m constantly amazed at the variety of marine life you can encounter here on the Ningaloo. The collection of photos I took in this 5-minute encounter are probably my favorite images I’ve taken in a long time. .
This place is the best!
