Treat you warm up sets, as you would a max effort lift. Go through the same cues, make sure you brace the same as you would if you’re attempting a 1rm, make sure your breathing is the same as if you were attempting a 1rm.
1. Going through your warm up in this manner, will lead to your working sets feeling so much better, how often have you got to your 1st working set and it felt like shit because you’re taking a set trying to warm up your brace and getting used to breathing again.
2. So may injuries occur during warm up sets, the amount of times I’ve seen someone blow their low back on a warm up deadlift or bent over row because they jump in without going through their usual cues!
Train smart and make sure you actually use those warm ups to prepare yourself for the big lift, by treating your warm up as a big lift!

Power training is not the same as training strength. It’s 2019, not 1876🧙🏽♂️ When throwing a rear leg kick: •Make sure your pivot on lead foot💃🏽
•Drive your hip through with the shoulder on your kicking side(should come through in one motion)...You don’t want to stop your hip or body rotating enough by keeping shoulders and hands up as in a boxing stance 🤸🏽♂️
•Imagine your leg is a bat you swing from your hip, only instead of hitting up, use gravity and come down at a slight angle🏏
•Make contact with your SHIN and not your foot. Unless you want it broken🏥
•If orthodox left hand should cover temple/jaw, southpaw, the right 💪🏽
•The opposite hand I throw to the side, making sure I keep my shoulder high to cover my jaw🔒

So it’s transformation Tuesday and I’d like to share Holly’s journey with me!
She’s been with me for 8months now and does boxing with me on a Thursday night.. if you’ve not seen us you’ve probably heard us 😂
Holly brings such amazing energy and enthusiasm to her sessions and always gives her best!
Since we are in a group we do little races where I pit them against each other, most of the time holly does lose against her friends but they are tough competition (plus Holly’s a spurs fan so what can you expect 😂) However I time them all and Holly’s times are getting quicker and quicker and at the end of the day the only comparison that matters is one with yourself!
And Holly’s becoming a better version of herself every week!
Again holly is an amazing person and a great friend too! However for this change to happen it takes more than just boxing once a week so it shows Holly’s been putting in the work when she’s not with me and I’m so happy and proud of her!
