A framed oil on copper cabinet painting of the Virgin. The surrounding Latin inscription is a reference from Luke 2:48 ‘Son, why hast thou done so to us
Behold, I and thy father have (searched thee sorrowing)’ / Fili quid fecisti nobis sic
ecce ego et pater tuus dolentes. French, mid 17th century. Measures 20 x 17cm (including the frame).
Almost every time we work as part of a big remodel, we run into issues. Our part was supposed to be to glaze these newly painted cabinets. The paint job is not good and there's a big gap at the ceiling I assume is supposed to have crown molding.
We negotiated with the paint contractor who hired us. We're sanding and repainting for less than our usual rate. But we don't have time to wait for his guys to redo it. And I don't have faith it would be up to our standards even then.
When you put your name on something you need to make it right.
On October 19th I began the process of giving my kitchen a facelift. I had been wanting to update the kitchen for years! I thought I better get to it this winter while I still can 😉 before Baby #2 arrives in March. I am thankful to say around a month and a half later I am now finished! I am SO over the moon happy with how it turned out! It feels so bright and crisp! Before it felt dark and closed but now it is much more open and inviting! 😄 I used products from @heirloomtraditionspaint Heirloom Traditions Paint for my cabinets, backsplash and countertops! I used the color #colosseum on the cabinets, backsplash and as the main color on my countertops. I also used #irongate #cobblestone and a touch of #abbey on my countertops then finished with the Gloss Top Coat. I was aiming for a faux marble type look for my counters but they turned out uniquely different from what I had planned for. I am thrilled with how easy everything was to use! 🤗 #kitchenremodel #kitchenupdate #diykitchen #budgetupgrade #heirloomtraditionspaint #allinonepaint #cabinetpainting #paintedcountertop #budgetrenovation #refinishedcabinets
Sculpwood @systemthreeresins is one tough epoxy putty. I want more of this stuff for my projects. It’s easy to work with to. Just mix 1-1 ratio in your hands. It’s ready to use once you see light brown color. I used it over bondo glazing which kept on shrinking:/ Sculpwood works out perfect for those bigger grooves, holes or indentations. #paintingcontractor #contractor #cabinetpainting #painters #woodpainting
