‘I Do! I Do! I Do!’ This artwork was a gift for dear friend’s wedding. The artwork represents the bond between a husband and a wife and how everything from far away just looks bright and gold but if you go into the depth of marriage it is not just flowers and fun. It consists of various differences and different outlooks. However, what makes a marriage so strong is how they coexist and support each other beyond the problems because of the love they’ve formed and shared together- that in the end is way greater than the problems. The artworks show the love between the couple and how they protect it from all the negativity. The gold throughout the canvas portrays the perspective of others and how we assume the couple as perfect. However going in the depth the mixture of colours show the reality- the work and commitment it takes for that couple to form that unbreakable connection, affection and strength between them. Around the perspective of others and the couple themselves, there needs to be a wall of protection which protects you from all the negative judgements and keeps you intact and full of love. In order to protect my dear friend and her husband from the negativity. I have used the stone Rose quartz in the artwork as a circle of protection and love. I couldn’t think of a better gift than the depiction of the wonderful term marriage enhanced with a great amount of positive vibrations around them.
"Happy Meal, Sad Planet" - Look closer to see the true consequences of big companies on our environment.
🎨 I guess it's about time I posted this! This was my major art project for the HSC. This sculpture was done over the whole school year, the frame is made out of MDF, acrylic paint and I used old packing foam to create the shape. The body is made from donated happy meal toys and the base is made from MDF and old happy meal boxes. The piece is about 1mx1m. I really appreciate everyone that helped me gather materials and create my artwork.
🎨 The idea is to express how so much waste is created by big companies for just a moment of happiness. All the toys used in my sculpture were unwanted and were on their way to landfill. The final layer of spray paint is an ugly yellow-green to represent the gross effects on our environment from giant companies like McDonald's.
