Friends since high school, separated by distance but always connected by our craziness when we were 15 😄 I'm so blessed to have gotten out from my full mama schedule to be with these ladies to laugh, watch shows til midnight, eat all the food, appreciate God's gifts and reminisce..🤗 the old age is getting on me because I'm still recovering from this beautiful weekend..we were only together for 72 hours and it was all worth it..💗👭👭
"Friendship is, chatting and wasting time when we have to get up early in the morning." We all need those kinds of friends even if you wanna kill them for making you stay up late..😂👭
Tomorrow is my 33rd birthday!! 🎉🎂 Still rocking this #croptop.
I've got type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, dilated cardiomyopathy and chronic systolic heart failure. I could easily let that hold me back and seal my fate but I chose not to! 💪
At 33 years old I'm taking the best care of myself, ever, and learning to love it.
6 months ago I had an echo that measured my ejection fraction in the 30% range, couldn't walk in the grocery store and had ballooned up with an extra 17 pounds of water weight!🎈
It's crazy to think how far I've come. I can definitely walk through the grocery store now. I had joined #cardiacrehab for the past 6 months and can easily walk 20 minutes now and follow it up with some lifting and other forms of cardio. And those 17 pounds of water weight Gone, along with another 20 pounds since then and the addition of some muscles I haven't seen before. 💪😂
Well, this got a bit long, my bad, but echo next week with some updated numbers. Wish me well, please!! I worked for this!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Chesham Stroll this weekend, what a fantastic day! We even had some people visiting from Australia - apparently the views are much better in Chesham... 😄

Today I’m being admitted to the hospital for surgery soon.
I’ll be having a driveline debridement and revision due to ongoing infection and severe pain around my driveline site.
I’m not sure when the surgery is, all I know is I’m being admitted this morning. Hopefully I’ll have more info for you guys soon!
Needless to say I’m having some PTSD flashbacks to my LVAD implantation surgery so I’m freaking out a little bit. 😅

It's been 4 years since the beginning of my journey. If you would ask me how I would describe it ɪᴛ'ꜱ ᴀʟʟ ᴡᴏʀᴛʜ ɪᴛ 🙏 -
Behind each journey comes with lots of tough choices, sacrifices, tears, sweat..let me tell you that it's not easy, it's never easy but what you or what I've gained from this is much more meaningful. It was all a coincidence with how I stumbled upon my friend in SM but it all turned out to be destiny..🙏 I found the right tools to help me jumpstart my journey by plugging in a community of ladies for support and accountability, working out at home for 30-45 mins daily, drinking a nutrient dense shake that's packed with superfoods and following a nutrition plan that doesn't deprive me of any thing..😊 i've learned that there is no secret sauce, no easy way to do it but lots of hard work, dedication, commitment and consistency..🤗
I feel like I won't hide anymore under winter clothes because I love the body I'm in and I'm loving this journey because it is teaching me to how to make it sustainable without making my lifestyle suffer..🤗👌
Wherever you are in this journey, give yourself credit. 👊
Acknowledge your success, how far you've come.
Remind yourself of what you're doing well to get to where you are.
Reflect on what other things that will help you get to the next level. 🤗
No matter what your goals are, no matter if you're starting, in the middle, just keep pushing because this is for you. 🤗🙏 -
Don't struggle through this journey alone when you can have a community to support you..as your coach, I can help you get the same tools that also changed me..my Holiday group is starting on October 7th and I'm looking for 5 ladies and gents to crush this last quarter of the year..If you want that spot, message me and I'll be happy to chat with you..🤗🎄🎅⛄
My mantra currently ♥️👏🏼🧘🏽♀️
September is Children’s Cardiomyopathy Awareness Month. PCHA is partnering with the Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation to raise awareness of pediatric
cardiomyopathy, a chronic and potentially life-threatening heart disease.
When cardiomyopathy is undiagnosed, there is a higher risk of sudden cardiac arrest, especially among young athletes. Every year, 7,000 children under the age of 18 in the United States will have a sudden cardiac arrest. Knowing the symptoms of cardiomyopathy and your family’s cardiac history can help to prevent premature death.
Meet Briana Roberson:
By looking at the photo above, could you believe she was in complete heart failure!
One week after the birth of her babyboy, Briana became severely short of breath.
She went to the emergency room, where she loss consciousness and fell into a coma for five days. During all the testing, a blood clot was found in her lungs that were filled with fluid. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, and shortly went into a sepsis shock. She was transferred to a more experienced hospital, and was diagnosed with Peri Partum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), a rare form of heart failure that occurs during pregnancy or immediately after delivery. The condition weakens the heart muscle and causes the heart to become enlarged. As a result, the heart can't pump blood properly to the rest of the body. She was given proper treatment and released to go home with medications and monitoring.
Today Briana is still on her road to recovery, continuing to raise awareness for PPCM and other women like herself.
You can follow Brianas story

Oh Banff, I have fallen in love with you..It's only been a few days but I just can't get enough of this place 🌲💗 I loved everything about it, the food, warm people, weather, greenery, laid back pace, quietness and sharing it with you all to see that there is a place like this in the world..there are probably others out there, but this is topping my list so far and I wouldn't mind going back again just to see it's beauty..🌲💗 there are more pics but these will do for today 😉👌
Five months ago. This was taken a week before our trip to the NIH where we learned that Parker was in heart failure. I was happy, free of stress, well rested and happy with my physical fitness. Today I’m none of those things. Living with auto immune disease, I know too well that we go through seasons of life, some more difficult than others. This, by far, has been my most difficult season. But is it a season This diagnosis will never go away. The medications will never go away. The breathing machines won’t go away. I DON’T WANT THIS! I don’t want this for Parker! I want him to live a carefree and worry free life. It broke my heart this morning while we were taking his morning meds and he said, “This is my life now, Mom. I’ll have to take these medications for the rest of my life.” I didn’t cry, but I wanted to. ITS NOT FAIR! Maybe one day we’ll all feel “normal” again.... whatever that is or feels like. But right now we’re all living life on the edge a little. I find myself not eating. Or stress eating. I’ve gained some weight and lost some sleep. Parker has too. We’re still trying to adjust to the new school routine. Guess what My kids don’t really know common core math because they were in private school. It’s like adding insult to injury. I know things will probably normalize, I just didn’t think I’d still be feeling like this after five months. #heartfailure #desminopathy #desminmyofibrillarmyopathy #cardiomyopathy
I'm nervous!! It's exactly 1 week until my next echo, and it's been 6 months since the last one. I'm hoping and working for a better outcome this time. 🤞
At my last echo I couldn't walk at the grocery store; I was constantly telling my kids to slow down for me, I had no strength or muscle tone going on and my husband feared he'd lose me. I was a wreck!! My EF numbers at that appointment measured in the 30% range and let me tell ya, that's not good. 😕
Although, since then I joined cardiac rehab, changed my eating habits, started a #selflovejourney and saw a therapist regularly. The differences this #journey brought into my life I can't even begin to measure them. ❤️ The best ones are that my family loves that I can keep up, and they can see how strong I've gotten. We can do things we haven't enjoyed in so long, like a random walk that had me climbing flights of stairs. I'm so happy to feel alive, again. If anyone ever asked me if it was worth it, I'd tell them yes, without a doubt. 😊
Hard work and consistency can do wonders for you. Are you willing to put in the work and time My family and I are using the last 💯 days of the year to get 💯 workouts in by 2020! Do it with us 💪

Todays long 'to do list' didnt get done. It happens 🤷♀️ my workout took everything I had with nothing left for anything energetic that involved more than sitting on a laptop 😳 but everything will be there tomorrow so it can wait 😁

You are stunning Lake Louise..🏞️💗
Just spectacular. 🙏
I can sit by you all day.
I can stare at you all day.
You are extraordinary.
You are as perfect as God intended for you to be. We are all here for a purpose, rather it be huge or small. Be kind, love, and guaranteed you are somebodies world. ♥️ 🌎 🤗
You are SO loved. You have left a permanent imprint on our hearts and now on our physical bodies. I waited 37 years for my first tattoo because I didn’t have a reason that compelled me to get one. YOU changed all of that son, and I’m proud to wear your heart on my sleeve. This trip to San Diego was originally planned as our “baby moon” and was booked while you were still in mamas tummy. Although you’re not physically here with us to experience the sights, the sounds, the food etc. we know you’re are still with us. Your spirit and sweet life run so deep throughout our lives and our family. We love you papa! 👼🏾🖤 #myKruz #lifeafterloss #chd #cardiomyopathy #boydad #mytinylove #sandiego

Diovan is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It is also used to improve the chance of living longer after a heart attack.
In people with heart failure, it may also lower the chance of having to go to the hospital for heart failure.
Diovan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily.
Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick.

Today was a significant part of my recovery journey. Getting some amazing news from this morning's appointments left me completely stunned, still processing but so so thankful. So today became about healing and doing things for me. Saying goodbye to a few things and figuring out what's next. 🥂 To new beginnings, second chances and making the most of the little things. #cardiomyopathy #recoveryjourney #happyandsadtears
💕My brave sweet Travis, you were one of the best parts of my life! The hardest part of losing a family pet-companion is not with a final good-bye, it's the way my whole world changed without my fur babies & the emptiness that is left in my heart. Now you have #MySweetKelsey there with you #August27th2019! 💔 So yes, here I am always keeping you close in my thoughts/heart!❤ #SweetTravisBoy, already today, Sunday September 15th 2019 is 18 months since I last had to kiss & hug you Farewell!! 💔 In life, our capacity to love is truly endless. #MyBoyTravis left carrying my love!💜
A 2nd Summer is nearly gone again & I'm missing my brave #SweetboyTravis! So today I've been reliving that heartbreaking day one year 5 months ago, the overwhelming second loss in one week (first my #SweetMistyblue on Wed March 7th) all over again! It was not expected when it happened, but it did seem suddenly with the last two days prior, that Travis' heart would finally lose its battle to #Cardiomyopathy.
#SweetTravis!💕 Forever broken hearted & I look for you in my ❤ & always find you there. Travis was such a strong warrior spirit throughout everything he went through! ! am so grateful for our 18 years together & nearly 16 years w/ #SweetMistyblue, too! 💕
Again, I'm grateful for my mind, that still remembers you, my voice that still speaks of you...my spirit that still hears you, & my heart that still loves you & my babygirl #Mistyblue!💙 Sometimes our lives are touched by gentle creatures who stay for only a while, giving unconditional L💜VE.
My Sweet sweet Travis..blowing kisses up to you & #MySweetMistyblue! 👄💕 I know I will meet w/you both where my dreams begin each night, my sweet #18yearOldBabyboyTravis 💕 I celebrate all the days of the 18 years we shared our lives together. I keep you in my everyday thoughts w/happiness & love!
I miss every moment you "oomph" talked to me without fail whenever I came over with your food..your Insulin, checking your glucose each day...counting your respirations (especially your last 7 months)

Swinging into a full on week ahead.
I’m not good with lots of things changing around me but many life lessons have taught me I’ve no choice. The seasons changing, our house is upside down being decorated, I’m off to Italy again on Thursday and a few other things are up in the air...change is inevitable and all around us.
I’m trying my best to embrace it and find as much gusto and joy as Zigs puts into swinging, to swing into this week! .

As some of you may or may not know i lost my brother Nathan back in 2010 to cardiomyopathy sudden death, he was almost 19 with no signs at all of a heart condition which claimed his life.
Raising awareness is what me and my family have been trying to do since that terrible day in 2010.
Nathan is now the face of the heart foundation fundraiser, ever cent counts to ensure this disease doesn’t claim another life.

Beautiful Banff..🌲💗 you are easy to fall in love with..if this has been in your bucket list, I say it's worth it..beautiful weather, every where you turn is picturesque, people are warm where we also found lots of Filipinos, air is crisp, delicious food..🤗 and I've never seen so many pine trees in my life!! 🌲🌲
So here's a little trivia, Banff is a little town within the Canadian Rockies and it was born when 2 railroad workers made a stop and saw smoke coming out from the ground and found out there was a hot spring after investigating it by going down using a tree bark..it was then named Cave and Basin Hot Springs. The town was later named Banff by the President of the Canadian Railway in reference to his birthplace in Scotland..🌲now, it's one of the most popular tourist destinations in Canada where it draws about 4.2 million people a year! 🌲🤗 -
Check my stories ☝️ for more Banff experiences..🤗
just enjoyed these warmmm blueberry vanilla proats on this grey sunday morning💜i always love the magical colour hot blueberries create when they’re swirled into oats and creamy yogurt. plus, mixed with the vanilla, these oats taste like CAKE🍰 #WAKEUPgoals
1. soak 1/3 rolled oats overnight in water (enough water to submerge the oats). i usually soak them right in the pot so that in the morning, all i have to do is turn on the stove to heat them up. they’re already edible after being soaked, but if you want to eat them hot, let them cook for a minute or two
2. stir in other ingredients. you can do this while they’re simmering or when you remove the pot from heat. i always make sure to stir in my protein powder after the oats are no longer boiling so it mixes in better (i added unsweetened almond milk, 1 big scoop of vanilla protein, 1 tbsp chia seeds, and 1/8 tsp concentrated ashwagandha)
3. in a separate pan, heat up some frozen blueberries and let them simmer a couple minutes
4. then pour the oats in a bowl and TOP⚡️i topped with vanilla flavoured coconut yogurt, banana, the hot blueberries, a mixture of cacao nibs and granola, and almond butter💜
