My favourite place eating out so far has been Santa Monica Blue Plate Oysterette 😁🎅Actually some of the best oysters I've eaten! All comes down to freshness for oyster quality. Navigating dinner out with people who eat "normally" has been a bit tricky, but give me an oyster bar, especially with a "Oyster Hour" which makes an actual meal of them more affordable, and I'm all in! Shared a plate of steamed King Crab legs (my friend was happy for the greens and left me more crab = win win!), 2 plates of a dozen oysters (I don't use the sauces, just fresh lemon), left the wine and dessert for others, and we're in heaven 😇 Love mixing in the seafood here and there, I feel it also has unique nutrient profiles I don't get if I only eat land based animals, especially iodine.

I now have aged, salted Spanish ham sitting indefinitely on my counter for the slicing! This will last for up to 30 days at room temperature. I just picked up this charcuterie kit at Costco which included the stand and hardware, the bad-ass knife, and the delicious dried ham to go with it.

The perceptions we have of ourselves influence how we navigate the world. Some people fall victim to their circumstances and take on the narrative of the victim. Instead of facing and overcoming their suffering, they preserve and set-up every condition in their life to make sure that they don't. This is understandable when a person is psychologically accustomed to maladaptive emotional and behavioural patterns throughout their life. Because when you're occupied or fully consumed by your suffering, it's hard to feel a sense of power. Instead of moving forward, it's much easier to surrender to your demons because it's impossible to imagine or live in a world without them. The victim is in denial, but the victim is also afraid; the victim cannot tolerate harsh truths or turn these truths into a force for growth. At the end of the day, we are moving in the same direction in our finitude as humans in this vast, complex world. We write our own story... and we can be the victim or the hero. The victim retracts, but the hero welcomes. The victim reuses the same narrative for each chapter, but the hero moves - trekking through the pages of heaven and hell. Unlike the victim, the hero lives. Which one do you want to be 💪💖

My fasting blood sugars when I was struggling to go keto up were averaging around 120 right up until starting strict carnivore. My fasting sugars were higher than that before, I just didn’t track them. The one point labeled “low” was after a 36 hour fast and the one a little higher was after some bbq that I reacted pretty badly to - even without any sauce. Ketones are finally fully flowing now. I think my body is still learning to actually burn them though because I do still struggle with energy if I don’t get enough fat. Frankly there’s enough fat in my body I shouldn’t need to add any yet lol
Finally got off that struggle bus today. I upped my dose of antihistamine and added lots of fat and salt. Fat came in the form of
2 egg yolk and ghee coffees. That ‘layered’ photo is egg yolk, cold coffee and ghee on top. I blend that cool in my bullet blender so I’m not drinking from hot plastic and pour it into hot coffee. Worked a treat! I loved the ghee by the spoonful, too. Had such a nice aftertaste. I also tried pork fat (the one like tallow, not bacon drippings) and liked it better than the bison tallow and straight butter but not as much as the ghee. So for upping my fat intake, I’m rolling with ghee for now. Dinner was very low fat because of a host of things going wrong after work and me not wanting to have to cook and my gall bladder aching a bit from the extra fat earlier. So, opted for drive thru bbq of 3/4 lb of ham and 1/4 lb of turkey and it was delicious.

How many of you have had almost complete disappearance of chronic joint pain I have noticed I don't wake up stiff and with hip and knee pain. My hands and wrists and fingers feel young again. The only thing that still gets sore is my mid back from standing and working all day. Unavoidable I guess as it is related to fatigue, and not inflammation. It's amazing, I hope, that this way of eating has resolved a lot of inflammation in my body, unlike just keto where I would still have these inflammatory pains upon waking up and throughout most the day. Decrease use of ibuprofen and Tylenol too. Tonight I ate cedar plank salmon and skirt steak. Lunch was a Burger King triple stack with no bun. I eat until I'm not hungry. I used to eat until I was full, not anymore. Bowel movements are small and yes you get loose stool when eating this way, as there is no fiber on this diet so let's hope it starts to become more solid. Any tips .
